Ditto on the need for page numbers.  I've already finished it, but we should know where you are so we can know what you have and have not read so we can know what should be discussed.

Elantris is on Sel, yeah.

Or maybe they used the teleportation Aon. We saw in Elantris that it can take people beyond the range that Aons are effective. It might work for interplanetary travel, although to be honest, that seems like a bit of a stretch.
That's a possibility, but that would be a very one way trip.  Unless something really significant happened that we're not aware of, I doubt Raoden and Galladon would be willing to up and leave the whole planet like that.

The first time she alludes to it.  "A secret ten heartbeats away." (paraphrasing) I immediately thought.  "HOLY CRAP, SHE HAS A SHARDBLADE!!!"  And freaked out, repeating that over and over for about a minute.  I'm really glad I was alone in the room at the time.  But it was freaking AWESOME.  Brandon is an evil genius to just slip something like that in so casually.  I was thinking that Shallan was going to be boring and then that happened.  It was sweet.

I'm not really sure.  There's really two ways to take this.  1) These points will become important later. (expect a RAFO from Brandon if this is true) or 2) Gaz's fate isn't important, he was killed off for incompetence or simply ran off fearing such a thing, his debt was probably either Lamaril bullying him for "protection" or something or maybe it was a gambling debt of some sort?  Knowing somewhat of Brandon's habits when it comes to foreshadowing, my expectation is the first option.

I'm going to reiterate what Chaos said regarding the number of Shards on Sel (planet that Elantris is set on).  Read tWoK, it changes a lot of what was previously thought.  The current theory is two Shards, with three at one point.  No specifics, just numbers.  It's not really a spoiler for either book, seeing as it's less than halfway through tWoK and not mentioned in Elantris at all.  I'm going to shut up now... :-X

Shallan's one of my favorite characters, and, yes, you should be smacking yourself for skipping her parts.  Whoever wrote that about her plot obviously didn't recognize how awesome she is.

My guess is that her father started beating Nan Balat and she accidentally hurt him trying to stop him.

Sel is named in a Q&A Brandon did with, what was it, Barnes and Noble?  It was online on their forum or something.  He also named the other planets at the same time.  Scadrial for Mistborn, Nalthis for Warbreaker and Roshar for Stormlight Archive.

I'm assuming that the 17th Shard is an organization of people who are aware of the existence of Shards and are capable of interacting with them somehow.

Where does it say there are 16 shards?

Aona seems like a good fit for Sel.  It seems like a good assumption to make.

Yeah, that's right.  He said it was how Hoid did things.

So what shards are we sure are active on Roshar?  We've got the Almighty, Odium, and I believe it's been said Cultivation.  So three so far.  I'm sticking with my theory of five, though.

I've noticed that some people on these forums have access to "insider information".
Hehe, we talked about this at the signing yesterday.  They're not quite on the inside but also not on the outside either.  They're stuck in the wall.  Me, I'm slightly farther outside, but I'd like to think I'm not quite on the outside either.

Maybe she means that you're being too specific with the characters, or perhaps where they're from.  I don't know, she hasn't informed me on this specific tidbit.

There was no language overlap, Grump never once said kolo or sule.  He simply used a similar sentence structure to Galladon, with the use of understand and friend in the same way Galldon would use kolo or sule, respectively.  I believe you're mixing up your notes here.

I'm of the opinion that you're reading too much into this.  Brandon has a bunch of characters, some whose mannerisms overlap is bound to happen eventually.

But, just to throw fuel on the discussion, they could be on a mission for some Shard or another and using their power to fuel their magics and disguise themselves.

It says that Rayse visited Sel in the epigraph for chapter 21 of WoK.

Quote
One need only look at the aftermath of his brief visit to Sel to see proof of what I say.

I'm of the opinion that the "aftermath" that is referred to might be either the Reod or the creation of the Dakhor magics.

I had the same thought of "Odium sounds more like a name", then I looked it up to see if it's a word.  It is.  http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/odium

Hate, disgust.  No wonder this guy is so messed up and trying to end the world. :P
