That's a pretty fast turnaround. Our turnaround at TOKYOPOP is pretty short, too. December books get sent to press next week (so proofs come after that).

Yes, you can do all those things by using CSS (not with <pre>). It's a bit complicated, especially if you know nothing about CSS already.

er...when it's for a class, I'd assume you'd get graded on it, so you'd want it to actually be any good, and therefore you'd actually want honest critiques.

"If the Legislature with the assent of the governor can do what was attempted here, the judicial branch would be subordinated to the final directive of the other branches," the court wrote. "Vested rights could be stripped away based on popular clamor."

Hm...I think the judicial branch today has far too much power to reverse any decision the other branches make. What can the other branches do to reverse judicial decisions? Nothing at all, except for constitutional amendments. Oh, they can impeach judges too, but when was the last time that happened?

If the Legislative AND Executive branches agree on something, shouldn't they be able to overturn judicial decision?

So! I saw this movie Monday night at FHE. New Mormony movie coming out in...March. It was pretty much finished except that the ending credits had no text yet. It's a mockumentary about a Mormon boy band named Everclean. And...it's pretty darn funny. I laughed. A lot.

My favorite of the Mormony movies I've seen so far is still God's Army, but this one is very fun.

I enjoyed it more than Napoleon Dynamite.

some kind of story model (ie intro, rising action, climax, coda)

Okay...I'm having trouble telling "turn up the heat, put the lid on" apart from just the standard plot model.

If a story doesn't have a plot (i.e., Napoleon Dynamite, which I saw last weekend mostly because it was recommended, and one of the producers is in my ward), I have much more difficulty enjoying it.

But anyway what are some ways to follow the plot model without using "turn up the heat"?

No point in arguing. They both suck and are a waste of time and money.

I think, at least, that those chobits cosplayers are actually girls. I saw another set of pictures of guys doing those exact same characters, and their costumes were just as good and they were just as beautiful. It was rather freaky.

Well actually...when he heard Stan was coming, he ran home and got the shield. (He only lives a few blocks away.)

And yes, he got a picture of the two of them holding the shield together.

well, I'm checking now because Alexis was supposed to get out his meeting at 3:30 and we were going to drive to Kinokuniya. I budgeted my work to last until 3:30 and it did, but now his meeting's still going (4:20 now) and I'm sitting here with nothing left to do.  :(

The output at TW has been rather low recently, for all sorts of reasons. Over its history, there are three times that the most popular series on the site has been licensed. So yeah, Jump in the US has overall affected the site's popularity as a long-term trend.

But the recent downturn is due more to staff members being busy with other things--various translators getting burned out or being too involved in school, certain people getting jobs at a REAL company and not feeling like doing for free anymore stuff they can get paid for, adverse reaction to inconsiderate, demanding fans...stuff like that.

Did I meet him? Well, frankly I can't remember if I was personally introduced. I was sitting there at one computer, and they walked by. Our guy said "And here's some of our copyeditors" and indicated us (I don't think he said my name but it's possible). And he pointed at my co-worker/roommate Alexis and said "here's the guy who reads the new books in Japanese to explain what they're about" and Stan said something like "but you explain in English, right?" ha ha... So thus my roommate got a whole sentence spoken to him by Stan Lee, and I got a passing glance.

I didn't want to make a big deal though. A lot of people lined up and got autographs, and his visit just was not meant to be anything like that. It was a business visit (though the subject of it is quite the mystery), not a geek fan visit. But a lot of people here totally geeked out--well, I guess that was predictable.

Signing the shield was a definite must though; I mean, seriously, who could pass that up? This is a 2 to 3 foot metal shield which cost over 200 dollars. But just random pieces of paper that will likely be lost--too much of a waste of his valuable time.
