I respond, "Sure, but if you want to write them you will certainly want to know how they work." Writing is all about execution, and I find applying some basic laws of physics to magic systems make them more understandable and realistic. There was a a redeeming part in Troll 2. When the kid pees on all the food. It was redeeming only because I took the food to be a metaphor for the script

Advent Children could have been better, but wasn't really that bad. Cloud just seemed so whiny, and it felt like they were just inventing weird story arcs.

I do agree that Pumpkin has no place in desert-land...or in beer for that matter. Both appearances make me sick to my stomach. Your post reminds me of what Calvin eats for breakfast =).

I think the image of trying to swing on a belfry bell is more amusing. Or maybe an irritated bank clerk with those 'ring for service' bells who is throwing them at everyone.
