Well, I don't know if that weight-lifting class thing works. I did indeed take the class and I was married by the time I graduated, but I took the class after I was married. Does that count? Maybe it was the fact that one day I would take that the class that made it work.

I think it would be really cool if related articles had a link at the bottom and/or top of each article that would take you to the next article and previous article (if one exists). For example, for the "Geek Girls Survival Guide #4," there could be a link somewhere on the page that will take you to the third article and the fifth article.

Everything Else / Re: Root Beer
« on: January 10, 2006, 04:16:12 PM »
I personally don't understand it. I've been told by Australians that root beer is gross as well. I realize that they haven't grown up with it, and so are not used to the taste, but it's not like everything we don't grow up with we hate when we try. All I know is it's my soda of choice and I think it tastes divine. (Although I once tried the root beer at Brick Oven and I thought it tasted like root beer candies and I didn't like it. It's the only root beer I've tried that I didn't like.) Yummy root beer.

And e can tease me if he likes because although I love root beer, I usually drink the cheap stuff because I'm cheap so I can't contribute to the discussion of good root beer that come in glass bottles. Sorry. (It's not that I've never had glass-bottled root beer, just not much or often.)

I personally do not like original. They're only good as soup crackers. And I don't eat soup very often.

Brandon Sanderson / Re: Hum....

That is so exciting, Brandon. Congrats! It's all building up momentum for when Mistborn comes out. I know that my sister-in-law (who is 18-yrs old) loved Elantris and can't wait for Mistborn to come out (although she was hoping for a sequel because of how much she loved Elantris).

But I don't get how it translates. Sorry for being dumb, but can you explain, please?

I don't know if you guys realize this, but just in case you didn't, under the Members link, the View by Letter doesn't work. It brings up each letter as having no one. Not a big deal, but still. It hasn't worked for awhile now.

I want many things, but mostly my secret desire is an ipod, or at least an mp3 player that has lots of storage. I am way too practical, though, so I asked for clothes and money (to buy practical things with). Alas.

Are they initials of those who have gotten this message before Captain Brown and who then sent it on to a new person? If so, he probably picked someone and sent it on to them with his initials added to the end of the list.

We're on our way to sky highways. Apparently these would be controlled by satellites so that you would just put in a destination and it would take you there. That way you wouldn't need a pilot's license, nor have to worry about it running into anything else--it would control it all.

This may have been posted in times past, but what the hey.

It's hip to have a graphing calculator.

My score was "Not nerdy, but definitely not hip." I think that's worse than being nerdy.

I just found out that I can get Utopia internet (10 mbps). Not only that but they have phone and cable tv services too, and I can get all three together for about $98/mo (including taxes). For what I've been paying for these three, it will save me between $10 and $40 a month (because my long distance varies by month). And the phone is unlimited long distance (in the US and Canada) and includes extras like voice mail, call forwarding, and caller ID, which Qwest wanted to charge $5 more a month for. I'm so excited. I can't wait to get it installed!

Music / Re: What are you Listening to?
« on: December 09, 2005, 04:02:50 PM »
I know this will probably sound gay, but I think that 98 degrees has some really good holiday music. They may be passe, but their harmonies on the more serious songs, like Silent Night, O Holy Night, Away in a Manger etc., is really good. I was very excited to discover this a couple of years ago. I recommend it. If you're not sure, you can always download some of it and if you like it, buy it.

I'm happy cause we had a salsa competition at work today and I won. Sure there were only two entries, but everyone was raving about how good it was and even though I brought a gallon of it, it was gone in a half hour. Plus, for winning I got a $25 gift certificate to Chili's. Free food makes me very happy!
