Right off the bat this bothered me "He paused.  What had he been doing? "

Who is asking this question?  I know that it can either be Ichabod himself, in which we're seeing into his head, as some flavor of omniscient POV, or it can be the narrator asking the question of the reader.

In the first case it bugs me because the rest of the scene to that point didn't imply that we had an omniscient POV, merely a floating camera POV.

In the second case, if it's Ichabod's POV, how exactly were we getting the floating camera information before?

I know White Ninja has been linked before.  I started going through the archives 'cause Brandon posted a link to one on his blog and I found this: http://www.whiteninjacomics.com/comics/orphan.shtml

I almost wet myself.

Smack them both and tell them to stop grandstanding.

Not bad DreamKing.  Would you like the missionaries to come by your house and teach you more?  ;)

I don't know if I can , in good conscience, go to a "geek" event where girls outnumber the guys.  It just seems wrong.

Dude.  That sucks.

Apply to Stamp it Up.

I shall keep my eyes peeled wide.

Oh, there's always UPS for an interim.  I hear they have decent wages and benefits.  Top that off with a waiting job at a snazzy restaurant in the evenings...

I'm going to have to research when that was written, exactly, and when John Ringo's war with the Posleen series started.  'Cause from the description you gave,  one of them was VERY heavily INFLUENCED by the other.

Well, you're both pig-ignorant philistines.  The Gemmel can do no wrong! Waves hands wildly

But seriously, good review I thought you pegged it right on.  And thanks for the mention.

I had no trouble pronouncing kosa zubatej and I feel like the "bane of all other magic users"  the "wizard killer" needed a cooler name than just kosa.

Can I just say that I rock?  I surfed the official LTUE website:  http://ltue.byu.edu/home.html and found that they are using the art I created the first year I was involved with that thing.

I did the dragon breathing fire up the tale of the rocket.  I'm proud of it.

It absolutely outweighs the pain and loss.  You might as well ask the same question about a spouse.

I'm sorry for you Shrain.  I know how you feel.  When I was on my mission one of our cats, 16 years old, who had been part of our family for almost longer than I could remember, reached that stage and had to be put to sleep.  I wept openly.

Let me assure you that not only will your devil dog be better off, she'll be there to see you when you pass on.

Quote
I venture to guess that you probably think pedophilia is an urge people ought to resist.  At the same time NAMBLA would no doubt argue that their desires are just as central to who they are as your homosexuality or my heterosexuality is to us.  So, whether we agree on which urges fall into the forbidden category is a separate issue from whether some urges ought to be denied no matter their source or inception.

Some ancient Greeks would have argued this as well, in fact.  Pederasty was, according to some, part of the normal and desireable bond between men and boys.

[From l'C'valyi d'Jade:  Skar seems to have taken overy my post.  Nifty trick, that.  I have no idea how it happened, however.]

[from Skar]: Uh, neither do I.  I certainly didn't do it on purpose.  Spriggan?
