Brandon Sanderson / Re: Alcatraz 1 Acknowledgements
« on: October 26, 2006, 10:48:45 PM »
I gave verbal comments and feedback and helped with brainstorming. This is one of my favorites, so I would very much like to be included in the acknowledgements. Thanks.

Heather Kirby.

The Ordinary Princess by M. M. Kaye. I needed my quintessential favorite book from childhood to calm my nerves and soothe my sorrows. It worked. I love that book!  ;D

Nice job, Geek Girl. A very professional interview, well-presented to the audience.

I knew it'd be great. ;)

Is Skar or the Gibbs Brothers going to do a movie review of Stranger than Fiction? If not, I'd be happy to, because I'm definitely seeing it. Though, the review wouldn't be until after the normal release date--I won't be going to any early showings.

But I don't want to step on anyone's toes if someone is already doing a review.

And I am working on a book review. But it sounds like you are backed up as it is, so I'll wait a little.

I agree with Gemm and everyone, it looks awesome. Can't wait to see more pics!  ;D

Having cards to handout would definitely be a good idea. Free publicity for EUOL, if he wants it.

Movies and TV / Stranger than Fiction
« on: October 18, 2006, 01:13:38 AM »
I saw a commercial for this movie on TV and it made me burst out laughing. It's about a man named Harold Crick (Will Ferrell) who hears the voice of a narrator commentating on his life. The narrator turns out to be a novelist (Emma Thompson), and he is one of her characters in her latest novel. The catch--she's decided to kill him off. Movie Trailer

I wish I had thought up this idea. It's great! Here's hoping a good idea will transfer into a good movie. I'm definitely going to see it, though, because I love Emma Thompson and movies about writing.  :)

Chimera: "I used to get inspiration in the shower. Now I get it in the bathroom in general. My creativity must be growing."
MsFish: "There are things growing in my bathroom, but it's not my creativity."

I swear I'm allergic to Utah. Every Fall, for the last four years, while I've been in Utah, I've come down with Bronchitus. Well, when I decided to move, one of the perks was, "Hey, maybe I won't get Bronchitus this year!" I'd avoided it so far (during September and early October), and I was moving to California, so it seemed plausible.

I was in Utah for four days this week. And guess what happened. I came down with Bronchitus.

I hate irony.  >:(

If I hadn't just moved, I'd be interested. Oh, well. I guess I'm not meant to scrap book.  ;)

What's the company's name, btw?

Wow, that's really nice of you Nessa to make this costume for Shrain. I'm also excited to see the finished product. Yay for Mistborn!

My sister-in-law told me about a family where they motivated the girl to use the potty because "Dora did it."

Thank goodness for potty-trained role models.  ;)
