Rants and Stuff / Re: Insomniac's Frustrations
« on: May 18, 2006, 01:56:10 PM »
I haven't ever heard that, but I don't think I have to worry about being addicted since I take 1/6 the recommended dosage. It's just enough to relax my body and mind so I can fall asleep. It doesn't do much to keep me asleep, but once I'm asleep I'm usually okay, it's the falling asleep part that I have trouble with.

Plus they always say on sleep aid commercials that all sleep aids have the risk of dependency. I bet that applies to pretty much anything you would use, whether valerian, Tylonel PM, Benadryl, sleeping pills, or whatever cause your body starts to rely on it instead. I just have such a hard time if I don't get 8 hours of sleep. Always been that way since I was a baby. My mom loved it cause I slept a lot as a baby and was sleeping through the night at 2 weeks, but it's hard for me when I don't get it.

Ok, two things: why did they take Michael's blood - paternity test?

That's possible. I was thinking maybe they wanted to see if he was infected with whatever disease/virus is on the island. Not sure, though.

I've found that a good thing to take to help me sleep is valerian root. It's found at any store that sells vitamin supplements. It works awesome for me. I only need one every other night (since I have very mild insomnia, normal dosage is 3 a day) and I don't wake up feeling groggy like I do when I take a sleep aid pill.

Don't forget Mazes and Monsters from 1982. It's all about the evils of role playing such as Dungeons and Dragons (although it's called Mazes and Monsters instead). Not a good one from what I've heard.

We have a couple Sales positions at my company in Lindon, UT. Here's the link to the whole list. And here is the one I was thinking of specifically.

Also, Omniture, which is Orem, has some sales positions as well.

I'd recommend looking for a used one, like on Craig's List (www.craigslist.org). They are usually pretty cheap.

Good theory. There is just one thing that makes it unbelievable. Harry will never be romantically involved with Hermione. If you replace her with Ginny then you have a believable ending to the series.

If you want an idea of how many people use MySpace, Tom has 72 million friends. And I'm sure some people delete him as a friend, so that's not even everyone.

Rants and Stuff / Stupid Scams!!!
« on: April 20, 2006, 04:01:46 PM »
I got an email a week ago, supposedly from CareerBuilder.com, where I have my resume, posted for a job. It didn't sound at all legit. Their clients would send you money and then you would put it in your account and give the company the money through Western Union (I suppose you'd keep some of it for yourself).

Because I didn't want other people (who would be stupid enough to do this) to fall for it, I sent a message to CareerBuilder's customer service letting them know I thought it was a scam. That way they could be aware and possibly send messages to everyone who received that message that it was a scam (although I was surprised they hadn't caught it before).

I got an email back from them saying that the email did not come from them, but that the people had used CareerBuilder's logos and email layout to give credibility to their scam. They recommended I put in a complaint to the www.IC3.gov Web site (stands for Internet Crime Complaint Center). So I put in a complaint. I don't know what will be done, but they are in partnership with the FBI.

I got an automated response back from IC3 that had a Web site to go to (www.lookstoogoodtobetrue.com). On it were some testimonials on people who were scammed. One was from the same scam as the email I got. The guy said he was told to keep $200 for each transaction. They also sent him packages and he was told to send them on to other people. These were bought with a stolen credit card (come to find out). You should read his account here.

So I guess this can be a scam rant, if there are others who have run into scams personally.

Search Google for MySpace layouts and backgrounds. This site has a few cool ones:

http://www.gazzump.com/graphics/layouts/

or here or here.

You just take their code and put it into your profile and it will change what your layout looks like.
