I was suprised that he didn't know.

I respond, "Sure, but if you want to write them you will certainly want to know how they work." Writing is all about execution, and I find applying some basic laws of physics to magic systems make them more understandable and realistic. Here, I'm going to outline my basic method for developing a magic system.

That's how I see it. It should feel good to see the finished product and know that you helped it. I would just being able to read the book another good part of the job.

I wouldn't mind it if it meant read a book seceral month early. I think it's worth it. But that is coming from someone who want to be an edtitor.
