Kind of a belated reply, but I passed out around 4pm yesterday. Darned turkey and it's sleep effecting magic.  :)

That being said, happy Solstice everyone. :)

Someone took a video of my sister performing a new song, "Winter" (perfectly appropriate for the holiday!):

I'd never actually heard it before.  It's beautiful.

Wow it is a beautiful song. Your sister is pretty talented.  :)

Books / Re: What are you reading, part 3

Band of Brothers by: Stephen E. Ambrose.

I have always stuck to fantasy seeing how realistic stuff never really interested me. I mean if I wanted real stuff I would watch the History channel or Discovery. So I was out of books to read and I saw this in a box of my fathers books. I decided that I had seen the mini-series enough times to recite the lines so I might as well read the book that spawned it. I have to say that I am pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoy this book. It makes me think that I might delve deeper into the whole historical novel section of the book store. Anyway I'm about half way through and I love it so if you haven't read it yet and like historical warfare type stories I suggest you read it, even if you've seen the mini-series.

That is the same as when I watched the TV mini-series North and South. Immediately went out and picked up the books and loved them.

Hehe, I did this when I was over there, was very fun.  :)

Hmm...I don't think I've accomplished anything major this year, not enough to fill a top ten list anyway.  :D I lead a pretty boring obscure life.

Hmm...

Food. Gingerbread men is key to  good holiday fun.

I can't really add snow, since it usually always snows near Christmas and it's just taken for granted come the holiday season.  :D

This has been going around, so maybe you've already seen it, but it's awesome: http://www.cairns.com.au/article/2008/10/23/11601_local-news.html

Ah crap, can we get a spoiler warning? I hate my arachnophobia.  :D

Bah, is IL trying to become a state with more corrupt politicians than MA? Not on my watch.  8)

Brandon Sanderson / Re: Thoughts after finishing Elantris *Spoilers*

I always just assumed it was how Dilaf's crazy mind worked. He was obviously long gone in the sanity department, so I just took it as another brilliant crazy scheme. He obviously didn't like Hrathen, and what better way to screw with someone than mind games?  :)

The way I look at it is, even if silk stinks it will still be entertaining. I mean we will probably laugh at her. Then get the ELC involved which is always fun. Then we get to throw pies. I mean its a win win. She either does well or we entertain ourselves at her expense.

Make a thread for the woodland coalition. . . . I would agree with wilson on this one. I mean The coalition started due to our titles, and has thrived off of them since. Dawn runs the forest that we occupy. My squad provides protection. You are a squire while Chtuck(i know its wrong) is a page. Silk entertains while Paper is the mascot. Necro takes care of the bodies that my squad creates and soon wilson will be our resident doctor, we even have resident choir members. Jade is our knight who provides funding while we also have beggars to assist. I mean we are a self sufficient little community based off of our titles. We need this thread. (also forgive me if I got your title wrong or forgot it altogether. That includes forgetting your name. I'm doing this from memory)

Someday you'll get the name right Monsta ;).

Aaaaahhh! Large snow storm on track to drop snow on me for the next three days. Weekend plans ruined. Darn it. Why does it have to snow on the last weekend to get my Christmas shopping done??? It must be fate. Those people who I have yet to buy a gift for must not deserve one. Yeah I think I'll go with that one.

It's suppose to be a good one too. I'll toss my angry hat into this snow storm since I have to drive to work all this weekend.  >:(

I date myself, but I still listen to Shawn Colvin.  She's one of the best singer/songwriters around, especially the early stuff which never became popular.  Intelligent lyrics, though moody.

I also enjoy Sara Groves, Switchfoot and Reliant K, my daughter's favorite.

New music: check out Citizen Cope.  Surprisingly thoughtful young hip hop songwriter.

I usually don't listen to Christian Rock, but Switchfoot and Reliant K have some darned good songs.  :)

I'd go around bringing people pie, but alas I cannot muster enough drive to do much of anything these days. Perhaps later.
