Title: Favourite magic system so far? (Spoilers for ALL books)

I exclude the One power because that system of magic wasn't originally created by Brandon.
AonDor/Dor magic
Advantage

• No material components necessary.
• High availability.
• Ranged attacks available for certain users
• Permanent effects are easy to create.
• Enhances physical aspects of the user.

Disadvantages

• Even the most basic uses need practice.
• For non-Elantrians, accessing the Dor is highly time and labour intensive.
• Each effect has to be described in an abstract symbol-language.
• Using the Dor the Elantrian way is bound to Elantris.

 Its AonDor for me. I just love the logic behind the system. Each Aon not only represents a word/letter/phrase, but it can be used to unleash magic. And depending on the thickness or length or number of lines attached to the rune, the amount of energy or light etc can be changed. And everything is mathematically based. And the fact that Elantris creates the Aon Rao just tops it off. I just love it!!

EDIT: Just doing a re-read of Elantris, and I was wondering if anyone made any database or anything linking the aon designs that appear at the beginning of each chapter with their corresponding meanings?
