Hey guys, this is Isaac from Inkwing.com (the same Isaac who worked on the interior art for Mistborn and Way of Kings). I've heard talk that a Bridge 4 Crew t-shirt would be a fun idea for us to put up on the website.
I'd like to get all ya'll's input as I go to the design table to come up with something. Is this a shirt you would be interested in? Any ideas of what you would like on a shirt like this?
Some ideas I've toyed with:
1) (humorous) A silhouette of a guy pincushioned with arrows with slightly-wacky text that says: "Bridge 4 Crew"
2) (serious) The Alethi glyphs for the number 4 (slightly distressed) and in the background. "Bridge 4 Crew" superimposed over the top of that glyph.
3) (designed) A huge number 4 with some Alethi designs in the middle of it--that superimposed over a smaller "Bridge Crew"
Thanks for your input, everyone! (Any feedback about the other shirts, etc on our website is always appreciated as well.)

For a preference I like (3). Second choice would be (1).

Inkthinker: No need to pick just one. I'm with you, however. #3 or #1 for me at this point.
Just trying to brainstorm with people who know the series. I've asked people at work, and for some reason the humorous one is garner the most votes. Maybe I'll do a rough mockup of some of these and post them for feedback/comments.

Idea #6: Bridge 4 featuring Kaladin's viewpoint symbol: the spears thrust toward a banner.

I like the idea of a shield covered in arrows.
What about a slogan of some sort? Something clever or funny...
"The best seats are in front."
"The front row has the best view."
"Lift. Drop. Push. Die."
Meh... those are top-of-the-head ideas. We could think of something better.

"Bridge 4: where dying's an art"
"Bridge 4, where being a soldier is for girls"
Here's an idea off the top of my head,
A checklist that states something like the following:
"Morning - Practice
Afternoon - Charge the enemy unarmored an outnumbered
Evenin - Soup's on!"
I'm sure this could be refined to be bettered, but im just throwing it out there.

Those are some fun ideas for slogans. My favorite so far would have to just be: Bridge 4: Soup's On!

How about a picture of a shield with bones crossed over top of it, with the caption, "I'm wearing your mom."
(Okay, maybe a bit too irreverent, but I giggled.)
Maybe just a picture of a bridge with the caption, "Have bridge. Will side carry."

My favorite idea so far. If you do this one, have a good 6 characters shoulder to shoulder with Syl somewhere in the group and have BRIDGE 4 bellow it. Good 'ol fashioned character lineup. Love 'em.... black shirt, grey silhouette with white blood splattered text. Oh delicious.

My artist side is irritating me to do some thumbs but it isn't my project. :D

Wow. "I'm wearing your mom" hits something like four out of six on the funny chart (naughty, clever, recognizable and cruel).
I like it. ;D

Honestly, i think the character lineup is probably the best idea so far, and not just because i mentioned of it. :P
I think its a good idea, because a lineup of the characters standing tall and proud pretty much personifies what being in bridge 4 was about that none of the other bridges had.

A silhouette of the crew pushing a bridge over a chasm, similar to raising the flag at Iwo Jima.
We'll cross that bridge when we carry it there.

There are so many great ideas here. The I'm wearing your mom idea kills me though, way too funny. I can just see Shen's face if he heard that. Just want to say I just purchased the Stormlight Archive title t-shirt off the site, can't wait till I get it!!! I would be down with ANY Stormlight Archive t-shirts you decide to sell ;D

How about something like a mock sport jersey? The name on back should totally say "Kaladin Stormblessed" though.

@AndrewMM I hope you like the Stormlight Archive shirt when it arrives. It's one of my favorites. We hope to do more Stormlight shirts in the near future.

Cool deal!! A t-shirt maybe tied in to the Knights Radiant would be awesome ;D Maybe with my favorite phrase or something? (See my signature line for the phrase I mean) I am sure I will love the shirt and probably wear it out.

the scene with bridge four pushing the bridge over the gap while kaladin runs up and jumps over, with him in midair jumping toward whoever's looking at the shirt with stormlight coming out of him and Bridge Four written on the front of the bridge and the shattered plains stretching out in the background would be pretty epic imo.
also, you can have the silhouette of the parshendi below. (like it's really just the main image cutting off there but it ends up looking like a silhouette of the Parshendi. I've seen it done before with wolves on threadless but I can't find the pic)
I totally laughed when I read the "I'm wearing your mom" one, I just don't actually have any friends who read this book so every single would be like WTF and then not laugh after I explain because they didn't read the book. Versus, I'd kinda rather have one going for the serious/cool effect because anyone could see that it looks cool, and maybe some of them would want to read it, and if I meet someone who read it we would still have the "Hellz yeah I love that book" effect.
Of course, if you're able to go to a bunch of signings and stuff then the "I'm wearing your mom" shirt would be perfect so idk.

AndrewMM: We've got several ideas coming down the pipeline for Stormlight Archive in general. One is the "Life Before Death, etc." Another says something along the lines of "10 heartbeats." As more ideas come up, I'll be sure to post here.
zarepath: LOVE the "Kaladin is my homie" idea. Rock's name t-shirt would be awesome, too, especially by wrapping his name from the front of the shirt to the back.
jacobfake: This is an awesome idea! InkThinker's work is so beautiful and illustrative, who wouldn't want his artwork on a shirt!
All: Keep the awesome ideas coming! I'll be posting some pictures later in the week. There are so many good ideas here that I can't figure out which ones to pick!

This may make sense only to Ithacans, but I would definitely wear a shirt that said "Bridge 4 is Gorges."

Wow, I was actually thinking about this last night as I was falling asleep.
I actually had a similar idea to something that was mentioned before.
How about a shirt where the front has the shield or a bridge pincushioned with arrows with the text "I survived Bridge Four..."
And the back could have the picture of a bubbling cauldron or some such with the words "And all I got was this Horneater stew"

Like the Horneater Stew idea. I'm working to get some of these ideas sketched up. When I get them done, I'll be posting them in this topic (and probably over at 17th Shard as well) to get some feedback.

@guy: we're working on getting some hoodies up. I think we'll have them up sometime in October. As for polo shirts and button ups, I'll pass the word along to my wife, and we'll see what we come up with. Thanks for the feedback!

I'd love to see some of these designs! I'm all for the silhouette ones, with the shield full or arrows or the crew carrying the bridge. I think the serious ones would work better than the funny, even though there were some really funny ideas. I thought the "Have Bridge, Will Side Carry" was absolutely hilarious, though it wouldn't make a lot of sense on a t-shirt.

I had an idea this morning for a t-shirt advertising "Rock's Horneater Cafe." :D It could have a cartoonish picture of Rock with a pot of stew, and a list of some of his signature dishes. (Try our "Chull patty surprise!")
