Title: Breeze's Girlfriend?
Post by: jrh1524 on July 01, 2010, 03:50:03 AM
I listened to Mistborn #3 on audio book, so I really can't go back easily and review the last chapters.  I also checked the annotations.

My question:
What ever happened to Breeze's girlfriend?

MY question is - where do I get these audio books?

Allrianne is still around, she's just not really much of a player.

Now how many people found themselves attached to her in any way? She had her moments, sure, but...most of the time she kind of irritated me.

I loved her.   The scene where she's gearing up to Riot the crowd, and Breeze won't let her, until he see's Spook, and then he soothes away all the unnessary emotions, and she riots the important ones, whipping the crowd into an instant frenzy is one of my favorites (Keep in mind I have a lot of favorites, but still, this is one of them.)
I also love her and Breeze's relationship.  Both think they are completely manipulating the other, and use their powers so instinctively... I really like it.

I guess my first impression of her is the one that stuck - I kept seeing her as the fluffy, silly girl we first met. I guess I had trouble adapting to that being a front.

I think, despite the very little we see of her, Allriane has a lot of character depth.  I get the feeling that she'd have a lot to say if she ever got her own viewpoint for more than a page or two.

Maybe Brandon will do retellings of the whole series from her perspective.

and then others!

the timeframe Mistborn 1 told entirely from Elend's perspective. Lots of brooding and stuff. Plus we'd get an in-depth look at how he feels about sparkling in the sun.

wait....

My favorite part of the book was definitely when Kelsier was like "Vin, you're my heroin" and she was like "Oh Kell, suck my blood you fiend!" and then Elend was like "dude, I'm a werewolf. Also, I love you."

You can read the rest of my Mistborn/Twilight slashfic at my blog, "Theres-always-another-sparkle.not"

. . . I can't believe I just read that . . .

Mistborn + Twilight? If there is any way to ruin my favorite series in the world, it's to combine it with the one thing (if I had a genie) that i'd wish into non existence.  >:(

@ Topic : I love Allrianne, she was one of those characters you loved to hate, just made me laugh the whole time. I wanna see short stories of her at some point.

I thought I had to find you and kill you there for about 20 seconds.

That, good sir, is my purpose in life. Making people think I must die for 20 seconds at a time.

BACK ON TOPIC - Breeze is the single character getting the most consistent action in the whole trilogy, methinks...at least that we know of!

I guess Straff is a bit of a player, too.

Ummm, Ham is married.  But then again, he's away from his wife a lot.
Otherwise, yeah, I guess so.

But Straff is...y'know, a Complete Monster...yeah...

And Allriane doesn't come along until Book 2, so it's not really through the whole trilogy...

yeah but really, who else is getting it on for all THREE books?

oh wait...I just realized.

Demoux totally has his own secret harem! it MUST be!

I don't think the Church of the Survivor is that kind of thing.  He is a sort of priest, is he not?
I really liked Demoux evolution through the three books.  It reminds me of Spook's in a way.

although there's a key difference: Demoux evolves into a religious leader and Spook becomes a quasi-religious figure.

I remember thinking that if people were gonna start making new survivors, (survivor of flames, etc.) then at some point it would start getting mundane as heck.

Survivor of Mugging

Survivor of Food Poisoning

Survivor of The Flu

etc. ad nauseum.

...is that going to be my catchphrase? I think it might...

Can I be the Survivor of a Fit of Laughter from those examples, or is that taken?

Whoever takes that title becomes the most heroic Survivor of all. So go ahead.

I call Survivor of the Mistborn/Twilight slashfic!

You must be more powerful than I am.  I would not survive that.
