Title: Mistborn Icons
Post by: Creative_Vortx on January 14, 2010, 04:51:27 AM
So today I decided that I was going to get a tattoo. (not right away, I have a goal I have to meet first before I will let myself. plus I have to design it out which can take forever since I'm a perfectionist with my art.)

Going to include one of the symbols of Allomancy. Question: Which one am I going to use?

Out of all the archetypes I liked: Soothers, Coinshots & Tineyes.

My main question is: Why is there no MISTBORN symbol? I'd prolly end up using a Mistborn symbol if there is one.

PETER! Got an answer for me?   :D

P.S. This will be my first tattoo so I better get praised by BS for that. Ha.

If any one letter in the steel alphabet represents a Mistborn it would have to be Lerasium. Looking at my Table of Allomantic Metals, I'd say the coolest looking are Brass, Duralumin and Tin, all of which are mostly symmetrical. Although I also like Atium and Lerasium.

Because they don't label types of Mistings, they label the metal.  I agree though that if you wanted some meaning like that Lerasium would be the way to go.

I plan on getting an Atium tattoo on my wrist when I get my change check. ha ha.

just get the whole steel alphabet wheel tattoo'd on like your chest or back. That way you can say you're mistborn and be all like "I can use all these! :D" and get weird stares from people who have no idea what you're talking about.

That's true, Didn't think about that. Your so smart Miyabi. *blush* Lol.

This was my ultimate plan. I was going to start with one metal @ the top of my back (prolly Lerasium now that I think of it). I was gunna design it out so that it looks like it has been carved into a PIECE of metal. As I get more over the years It would start to look like a shattered SHEET of metal on my entire back.. Pieces everywhere, like somebody is trying to put it back together.

What do you guys think? Yay? Nay?  ;)

I dont think it's quite hardcore until he starts getting the whole body (or was it facial? i dont remember) tattoo like inquisitors have.

Then maybe get the symbols of the metals tattoo'd on the location where the spikes go. Yeah, i think that'd be what I'd call hardcore :P

I still think starting the process of getting tattoos on the entire back is pretty hardcore.... but you're right, Steel Inquisitor tattoos are a whole different level of hardcore. That's a scary level of hardcore.

Next you'll hear a story of someone getting heavy body-mods by getting spiked driven through their body at a tattoo parlor.

If i saw some dude walking down the street all tattoo'd up like an inquisitor with body spikes and stuff, i'd probably run away screaming.

Running would be futile if an Inquisitor was after you.  I'd probably fall to the floor begging him to make me an Inquisitor as well. xD

Hey my plan will be spaced over MANY years. Tattoos are expensive AND I don't let myself do it without accomplishing something I personally set. Makes each tattoo and little more important.

Plus it will be my first. Go me.

I should definitely do the whole spikes through the eyes thing. I think I could pull that one off quite well. Heh  :D

I did see a guy with tattoos around his eyes, and my first thought was of the obligator.  Apparently it's a cultural thing for the. . .  Samoans I think?

Oh yeah, i have no delusion's i'd get away from one, it just sounds like the best option out of "run away" or "curl in a ball and cry"

Smart man. Always take people up on their offer of FREE money. It's their fault they offered. They will learn their lesson.

I dislike tats. My brother has a rather large shoulder piece of a cross with briers ect. probably 14 inches from top to bottom. Not too mention, tattoo's on women, at least for me, are a turn off... though i can tolerate a tramp stamp  :P.

P.S. If it doesn't look good sagging then it makes a bad tat.

I find tatoos distasteful, but I won't argue.  I'll just say that when you get old it's gonna look nasty.

If you can't be dissuaded I'd say go for the one who's power you'd want most (probably Larasium), then its alloy. (Atium, I guess?  ??? )

Nope it has 16 alloys to make all the mistings... atium is it's own metal with 16 alloys

It's all good. Everybody has their opinion on everything right? I don't have one yet so maybe i'll dislike it AFTER I get it, I think that is a good idea. :D

I didn't say don't get one, it's not my body. However you DO want to consider the ramifications it will have professionally. I mean image is everything and if there are any visible tats it will cause problems with certain potential clients.

True, but that won't be much of an issue if it's just on his back.

And I know that Atium and Larasium aren't alloys, I was simply saying that they're the closest when it comes to theme.  Each of the other pairs are alloys, whereas these have the common theme of being God Metals.
