Ha. You're SO funny....
It's not really my fault that I got mugged. I mean, I'm a helpworker. Who honestly mugs a helpworker? My morale has dropped so much that I trust no one outside of the coalition. In fact, I won't even step out of the camp. Sure, Dawn told me no muggers will be in her woods, and even though you're patrolling the area, I just can't bring myself to re-enter the city of my mugging....They will partake of my helpworking no longer... Sad that.

One. . Red Squad Leader. . . Oh that would be the . . . best thing ever, then I could give air support and recon. Oh now my hopes are up. Im sure the Coalition it self can protect its people from muggings.

i hate my title!!!!!! (of course, i just started, and havent leveled up). but even having fleas

Hmm... it seems i leveled up with that post. Now im an ink dryer. Not as bad as my other title which i cant remember/ never bothered to look at ;D. I like that emote. An emote is different frome an emo. And emos are different from emus (flightless bird), and Elmo (red freaky tv character)(too many adjectives). There arent any threads on video games i actually have. (all on WoW and stuff). Another rant finished.

When you get to higher levels, your title just stays with you too long for you to be constantly posting rants about it here.

Wilson, never doubt the safety of the woods darlin'. We are an incredibly tight knit bunch, and if anyone hurts you they are automatically on everyone's hit list. So, we are looking for your mugger, and you are being protected by our Famous Squad Leader. :D

(You know, wasn't I making jokes in the last thread about getting promoted to busker or something? And then I actually did! Well, sort of. Too funny.)

Sweet I'm famous, not only that but I'm level 20. for some reason there is something satisfying about that. Any way I figure that because I'm famous more and more people probably want to be in my squad. So after a brief time my squad should be considerably larger and therefore able to provide better protection to the woodlands coalition. There should be no worries of muggings and the lick in the near future.
wilson: yeah I read all the submissions from the first I just never submitted any crits because I wanted to see how others crited each other first. I have never really written before and I didn't want to be spouting inane things at writers. That's also why it has taken me so long to write my submission. It stinks because I feel like I'm falling out of RE but I will have some crits to post there soon and I will also have my story done shortly so that should solve the problem.

My voice is getting a little tired after all this singing.
I spent all my time doing manual labor up til now, and then they toss me in a choir. So the muslces that I trained are now turning to flab, and my throat is getting raw.

Gloria--maybe they're just trying to train up the voice muscles, too. Maybe they want you singing while you work. I guess we'll find out in.....36 posts. Geez, man. You really need to post more. You've been a choir member longer than I've been on my last 2 levels.
Hoid--I don't think we've had a schizoprenic in the Coalition before. This shall be a new experience....Well. That's assuming you want to be in the coalition. But really, why wouldn't you want to be. It's composed to the coolest people. And some of the coolest people are punks (ie, me.....and Monsta).
It's great that I get so much protection by being in the camp. Why did I ever leave in the first place? Maybe if I hadn't left, I wouldn't have gotten mugged....No. That's not true. Some sneaky mugger probably would've crept through the woods, dodged the patrols, and mugged me still....Or maybe the mugging would've been a joke. *sigh*
I wonder who's going to injure me. Oh! And speaking of injuries, I was right, oh Famous Squad Leader! You may have injured me, but I injured you FAR worse...Ah. It feels so good to be right (especially since I feared I'd have to eat those words...) ;D

Well like I said before you earned the right to say that. Except that I would exactly say that it was far worse seeing how it was neck and neck for a while. In the end I'll give it to you. And I hope you know that no one gets past my patrols. They are extremely vigilant and dedicated to performing their duties to the utmost of their abilities.

Okay, so maybe it wasn't far worse, but....it was still worse....A little bit....Maybe.
And this is taking me forever to level up. I'm not saying I want to be injured, but I would like to get to not be a Helpworker....Particularly since we still don't know exactly what a Helpworker is....
On another note. Yay! I got my laptop back!...Unfortunately, I still have to wait for a new adapter. So it still does not work. :'(

Yes, I did get it back...And I'm actually using it right now. Which makes me happy. Too bad it only has about an hour left of power....and then it will die!...But oh well. My dad's ordering another adapter so it's all good.
As for my injured-ness. I think it will be another few days before that happens....My dad restricted me to 2 hours on TWG on the family computers....Lame. Maybe he'll lighten it up though since I got a job (I just got home from school, and I've been looking for one since Monday...well. Except for yesterday. The roads were a little too icy for my comfort yesterday. I don't do so well with ice and cars...Heck, I don't do so well with cars, period, but I digress...Anyway, I found a job today and I start on Friday. Didn't even have an interview, because the owner remembers me from 2 years ago...I rock!).
Yeah, so. Apparently my mugged status will continue for a bit longer. Which is fine. It's not like I can get mugged anymore than I have been, especially since I'm hanging around the camp so much and our famous squad leader and his patrols won't let any shady characters through....Well. Any shady characters that aren't part of the coalition anyway, since technically anyone flea-ridden is kind of a "shady character." :P

Well wilson, you do only have 15 posts to go, i'd say that that you could do that in two hours. Of course, you might still have the mugged status when you level up. Oh well, i would just stop carrying stuff around.

By the way, what is the coalition? (ink dryers dont get out much. thats why i havent been mugged yet :D

We may be a bit lenient with our membership but that's ok. Although those poor flea-ridden members are afflicted with bugs they are nice enough people. We also make sure to monitor all aspects of the forest and that includes our own coalition. Its not that we don't trust eachother its just that when some people get filled up on pie and ale they tend to get a little rowdy and we cant be having that.
Good to hear about both your laptop and your time restriction. Seeing how you have jumped up to like 7 days and something hours it might give me a chance to catch up to you. At least a little bit. Although it does stink that you wont be around for any duels but I think Jades away for a couple of days so I don't think you'll miss much.
Hoid: the Coalition is a group of us posters who have banded together and do fun stuff with our titles. Like eat pie and watch Silk do a show and so on. We also stay vigilant against any trouble and we are ready to combat said trouble if it arises. We help eachother out if we need too and we duel eachother from time to time. You are welcome to join us if you like. We already have a good amount of members and we always welcome new comers.

I think the good thing about this thread is that there really isn't an "off topic". I mean not for long at least. I mean right now I am sending my squad out around the woodlands to predetermined outposts to keep watch for the night. See that was on topic because I am a squad leader by title.

I totally agree with the statement Monsta made about this thread really not ever being "off topic". All of our silly conversations usually have to do with one or another of our titles, so technically it stay on topic......mostly. We have been known to be admonished once or twice, but hey, what thread doesn't stray a little bit, right? ;)
I need to post more so that I can see what comes after, and sometimes I feel so inadequate. I am only what, level 11? Ugh. I slack here. I have over 3k posts on the other board I frequent and though my time has been somewhat shorter here I don't feel it is less meaningful. I am just not sure why my posting is infrequent. But, I digress...
It is a pleasure to have you with the Woodland Coalition. :) Enjoy your time with us. And remember, the cake is a lie, only the pie is the truth. ;)

Hey just because your boared doesn't mean you can shirk your duties. We need you man. What would we do without those pies?? I mean we wouldn't even have anything to throw at silk if her show stinks. You can still do your job without enthusiasm.

If her show stinks? I believe the word is 'when'.....Remember, she's a beginner. Unless she's a natural, she's gonna get some pie....although I guess all those fleas could've taught her a thing or two about entertainment. But I doubt it....:P
And I don't mind if I miss a few duels because of my time restriction...I've already participated in the one that really mattered, so....yeah. I can hear about the others later. Or read about them in people's sigs (which would also be kind of cool)....But anyway, good luck, Monsta, catching up to me in time spent...There's a chance you can do it, but you're gonna need to waste a lot of time....and get in the habit of refreshing the page...Which is all possible, but it's whether or not you can do all that before the adapter comes in next week. Hence why I'm wishing you luck. I hope you do. I like competition.... ;)

It is entirely possible Paper. :) And it sounds like a fun dance, and even though I am a forester, that doesn't mean that I can't play in the sand too, does it? And Silk, we know you won't be awful....not after a few practice runs. :)
Ah, the joys of snow days.... :( My kids are restless and grumpy, I am restless and grumpy.....and Christmas break started two days early this year due to the ridiculous amount of snow and ice in Washington at the moment.
So, I am here for the pie, and the companionship....or will be off and on today. Maybe I should log onto messenger and see about some dueling..... ;)

Silk....I don't think our camp is equipped with a stage. Therefore, my not getting a backstage pass? Yeah, that doesn't really hurt....And if your little performance takes place in the city, well. That still doesn't affect me. I'm not setting one foot in that city again. I still have a sign taped to my back that screams "MUG ME, PLEASE!"
And congrats on the fleas, Hayley. Now let's see if you can keep them off you longer than Silk was able to....
And Paper. I think I'm with Monsta on this one. Camel=sandwalker. Therefore, your "Camel Dance" now needs to incorporate sand. So I guess we can call it the "Sand Camel Dance"....or something.

Yes, having something to do is quite nice.....I would perform as well, but....I don't think a Mugged Helpworker can really do a whole lot. Especially since I've reverted back to a semi-Hermitism thing so as to keep myself from being mugged....for another 5 posts, at least....yay. I'll level up. And then I'll be injured (I think).

Hey, that wasn't really doubting you per se. That could've been doubting anyone....And actually, the death of someone doesn't necessarily mean it was utterly terrible. I didn't think everything through before I made that assumption. It could be that the show was so fabulous, that the persons heart just gave out....Or something....
Maybe we shouldn't invite anyone with a heart condition to the performance. Just in case. :P

The show being so fabulous someone's heart gives out is a far more likely turn of events, at least as long as I'm the one on the coffin. Just ask Hayley.

Well. I believe there was talk of the choir performing as well....And something about talking pies, although I'm not sure how they started talking. It may have had something to do with putting choir members in them?...Or something.

You know, giant pie, go to eat the pie, and the choir members leap out and start laughing? (Maybe it's a good thing we have that coffin after all...)
I guess there's stand-up comedy at this performance as well. Or something.

See, I thought I was going to be injured. Level 15 is a Healed Helpworker....So I just sort of assumed that Level 14 would be an Injured Helpworker....Who'd a thunk that a person would need 2 levels to heal from being mugged?....This further backs up the idea that Helpworkers are LAME.

So it looks like it has been an amusing couple of days.
To start, I have plenty of soldiers about who would be happy to build a stage for said performance. That is unless you really want to use a coffin. I mean it might be a good idea to have one around. Plus if anyone dies then we would just be giving our "Gaunt Mortician" something to do.
Second lets not forget that there is a "Sand Camel Dance" that will be taking place as well, and maybe our resident "Recovering Helpworker" would be willing to re-duel me as a part of the show. You know, add a little flare to the performance (seeing how silk over there is probably going to need that coffin).
Right now im going to have my soldiers begin clearing the snow out of the "forest" (ie: my drive way and walk way). Hopefully it wont take too long.

Snow....Snow is dumb. It keeps snowing here, but it's not packing snow. It's powder. You can't do anything with powder. I had a craving earlier in the week to build a snow fort, but the foot of snow on the ground was powder...Lame.
Are you sure you want a re-duel? I beat you before when I was a Mugged Helpworker. Think about what that'll be like with me recovering and all....Maybe you'll pull a Silk (ie, duck into a thrust....), and then THAT can be what my sig becomes. I'd like that. A lot....

No. My sword is just fine. I left it at the camp. Plus Monsta and I already dueled...After I got mugged. And I beat him.....Hence why he'll lose again if we duel again, because I'm in an even better shape than our first duel....
Anyway we both got pretty wounded the first time. So this time, I'd get less wounded, and he'd get more wounded (and since it would be difficult to get MORE wounded than he already was and still stay alive, I'm betting he'll need the coffin....). Since our Coalition can't really be without our Famous Squad Leader, and I can't just deliberately lose, I'm afraid I'll have to decline on the re-dueling.... ;)

It seems that as a mortician I've studied enough of the body that I know where the pointy end goes. Now no one wants to duel me anymore. :'(

....That actually explains a lot. And I dueled you twice. And I lost bad enough the first time, but horrendously the second time....Therefore, I think I'm perfectly fine in my hesitancy to duel you. I'd rather not submit myself to that sort of mental torture anytime soon...
But eventually, Ben, I will challenge you. I will be a Doctor at Level 20. And then I will also have studied the body enough (and hopefully by that time I will have dueled enough that I understand the technique a bit more), and you will go down. :P

Actually, it might be. If the peice of metal is a stake. And it goes through your heart.
Or your opponent could put garlic in your pie... i dont really want to see that duel. Of course, if you make a coffin now, it might be useful when you become a vampire... i hear they make good beds ;D.

Heh. Hoid, you don't have to watch ink dry anymore....Now you run errands...for scribes. Do we have any scribes in the Coalition? Hmm....I don't think we do. At least not any titled scribes. I mean, we've got plenty of writers, but....no one titled as such. Sad that.
And Ben, I never said that the stake I would use would be metal. I can make it wooden....Wouldn't be too hard to accomplish. :P

Yeah, it seems like a lot of actual writers have TWG accounts... maybe they have a lot of time to waste.

Oh wilson, ye of such confidence. I like the way you spun your response. I will give it to you that you defeated me. You won fairly in competition, but have you not the honor to allow me some semblance of my own honor? Could you not allow me the chance to display mine abilities in combat once more, if to only redeem myself in some small manner. I understand your not "scared" for your safety but mine. I'll tell you what. How about we put this duel on hold. You agree to wait until I have more experience in dueling and can therefore defend myself better. If you allow this then I will leave you alone about it. It would also give me a chance to complete my matrix.

Speaking of which.....I need to complete mine as well. It has many holes. Which isn't surprising since I started working on it last night. But it's almost half-filled out, which is good. I guess....
And yeah, I can wait. I would actually like to duel you again, but since I don't want to have to kill you....it would be best to wait. Just don't wait too long. Like I was telling Ben, I become a Doctor fairly soon, and then I will also know where the pointy end goes.

i would duel, but i dont have an AIM account, and dont feel like setting one up. Do you think we should make a thread just for Coalition stuff? It would leave space in this thread for people who want to rant about their titles.

And anyway, our Coalition stuff has to do with our titles...kind of. I mean, our role within the Coalition is BASED on our title for the most part. Plus, it's called the Woodland Coalition because Dawn is a Forester....so. I still think it fits here....
Oh, and Jade. I would totally duel you. I would lose. But I would still duel you....

true... it's not like anyone here really dislikes their title; your recovering, haylee doesn't have fleas... i guess you are right though, our role does have something to do with our title (i cant wait until silk levels up so we dont have to see her performances)

The way I look at it is, even if silk stinks it will still be entertaining. I mean we will probably laugh at her. Then get the ELC involved which is always fun. Then we get to throw pies. I mean its a win win. She either does well or we entertain ourselves at her expense.
Make a thread for the woodland coalition. . . . I would agree with wilson on this one. I mean The coalition started due to our titles, and has thrived off of them since. Dawn runs the forest that we occupy. My squad provides protection. You are a squire while Chtuck(i know its wrong) is a page. Silk entertains while Paper is the mascot. Necro takes care of the bodies that my squad creates and soon wilson will be our resident doctor, we even have resident choir members. The way I look at it is, even if silk stinks it will still be entertaining. I mean we will probably laugh at her. Then get the ELC involved which is always fun. Then we get to throw pies. I mean its a win win. She either does well or we entertain ourselves at her expense.
Make a thread for the woodland coalition. . . . I would agree with wilson on this one. I mean The coalition started due to our titles, and has thrived off of them since. Dawn runs the forest that we occupy. My squad provides protection. You are a squire while Chtuck(i know its wrong) is a page. Silk entertains while Paper is the mascot. Necro takes care of the bodies that my squad creates and soon wilson will be our resident doctor, we even have resident choir members. Probably true, but even a recovering helpworker can be useful. They're still a helpworker afterall. I'm feeling kind of useless, because there are no titled scribes in the coalition.

I do post a lot...but my post count is slowly but surely dropping and has been since I got home from school...even more so since last Friday when I finally became employed again....speaking of employment, was only supposed to work 6 hours today, and I ended up working 8....I guess this will be good for my pay check, but....I was kind of hoping for more free time on Christmas Eve....
It's going to take me forever to recover from my mugging....I have less than 40 posts to go. At the rate I'm going now, that means I might be fully recovered by New Years....maybe. Good thing I don't drink, or else then I'd go right back to being indisposed after New Years. :P

Well good luck to you on leveling by New Years. I on the other hand, as a Famous Squad Leader almost have to drink. I mean someone has to buy the men rounds after a good nights work. So I wont feel bad when Im recovering after a long night partying on New Years.

Not only do I have lots of work now (I'm only part-time, yet I've worked over 24 hours since Christmas Eve.... :(), but the forum has temporarily died for the holidays it seems....and I have jury duty starting Tuesday... ::) Apparently, my life didn't like me wasting time on here so much. Lame.

You guys may still be gaunt, recovering and bored but I'm still hung over. And that's no fun. I also have court related business on Tuesday and by the way jury duty stinks. I had it once and it was a drunk driving case and someone in my immediate family had been hit by a drunk in the past so i didn't have to sit trial.
Any way I for one will be busy here fairly soon. I have work tomorrow so I should be around.

For some reason, I find it supremely entertaining that you say you'll be busy around here because you work tomorrow.....Most people I know wouldn't make that correlation. Work means....well. Work. Not time-wasting....But I'm off tomorrow, so if you're here than maybe I can level up.....assuming we can get another day like that Thursday (although I definitely won't be posting 70 times)....Even if I'm submitting tomorrow and I'm so not ready for it. I shouldn't even be on here right now. I should be eating and getting ready for church, but here I am.
Anyway. On a funny little sidenote, I'm not the only one recovering in my household today. My sister sliced her finger on a boxcutter 9 days ago, and had the stitches taken out this morning....She's also having her wisdom teeth removed tomorrow....I know I shouldn't find all of this funny, but this is the same sister who broke her arm on the first day of spring break and therefore couldn't go on her first ski trip....or rather, she went, but she couldn't ski. ::)

wow, that really sucks. It seems every time i go on a ski vacation i get sick, and can't ski half of the days I'm there.

Oh, this was a school ski trip, so not multiple days. 5th graders here all get to go on a ski trip. I went again in 8th grade too (although I didn't actually go skiing. I went ice skating but there were plenty of people who went skiing). 5th grade was the only time I've ever been skiing. Horrible experience. I prefer snowboarding to skiing any day, and I've only been snowboarding twice.....

I think for people to understand properly they have to realize that I do a lot of sitting around at work especially during the holidays. I sit in a control room and monitor some 72 different cameras on 15 screens and respond to alarms. Most of the time I don't have much to do and during the holidays there aren't any employees around to make my job harder.
Ouch, go to church? I don't think I even remember what that's like. But power to you, I hope you enjoy. Hopefully we can help eachother level tomorrow. I don't know what comes after Famous Squad Leader but I don't think it can be too bad. But then again I might end up with fleas.
You know I seem to be one of the only people I know that doesn't enjoy winter sports. I don't ski or snowboard. That is unless you consider sledding a winter sport. I snowboarded once and face planted. I ended up dazed and looking for my glasses for like 20 minutes, and it resulted in the worst headache I have ever experienced.
Sorry for your sister, maybe you should keep her away from sharp objects.

That may be hard, since the removal of wisdom teeth kind of requires sharp objects....And the breaking of the arm wasn't even a sharp object. That one was roller-blading the dog....The dog kind of went psycho and my sister did a partial backflip and landed wrong on the road...I still remember her coming through the garage door into the kitchen....She wasn't crying but she was holding her arm in pain....
Ah. Face-planting. Yes, I did that a few times the first time I went snowboarding. It wasn't fun. Don't think I lost my glasses though, which is good. I think I fell more time backwards then forwards, because after I had to flip the board around about 15 times, I decided I'd rather fall on my backside....I was in pain the next day. It was unpleasant.
As for church....I go every week. Today was pretty enjoyable....although that was probably because I kept getting distracted by a friend of my sisters....It was rather fun....And you don't even remember what church is like?....I've heard that happens to quite a few Catholics (and if you're wondering I know you're Catholic, I remember you saying it on that Religion thread that got locked.....I have a creepy-good memory. I sometimes refer to it as 'stalker-good'.....but I swear that I'm not stalking anybody...much :D)
And you won't end up with fleas. I think fleas is being kept strictly with the deceptive crowd. Hermitism is with the light crowd.....And I have no idea what semi-bad thing is for the warring crowd. But I'm interested in finding out....Maybe it's Jail.....hahaha. So yes. Levelling up tomorrow sounds like a plan.

So anyway . . . back to topic. I remember when I was going through Squad Leader training (basic training) they pulled all four of my wisdom teeth in the same day. It included oral surgery so I was put under for the procedure. I feel bad for your sister because it is not a pleasant procedure and recovery. Apparently you can only be fit for war if you don't have your wisdom teeth. Strange.
As a Squad Leader who just so happens to be Catholic I would have to admit that a lot of the Catholic people I know don't in fact go to church. I mean as we get older we tend to view it as more important and therefore tend to go a little more often. And by older I mean like either after marriage or between 40 and 50. Instead of asking for forgiveness we just let our sins compact until we get old and then we go to church. I might start going again once my daughter gets old enough to understand but her mother wouldn't even let me get her baptised. That alone is one of the reasons why I'm not the biggest fans of her. I have already noticed your "stalker memory", I don't think I will have a problem with it as long as we live across the country from each other. If you lived in the greater Boston area I might be worried but as of right now I'm not.
As for the negative titles for us warring people they have included being four different Grave Diggers and three different Convicts so I hope that I am past the negatives. I do know that at level 29 I become a Rich Mercenary but I don't know what lies between now and then.
By the way Jade, I wouldn't really be apposed to being whipped. That is if the whipping was being done by someone other than yourself, preferably of the female persuasion.

Yes. I know the feeling of having wisdom teeth pulled. I believe that happened right before I was Betrayed....It was kind of funny. I laughed through the whole procedure (or at least that's what the nurse said because I was also put under). My anesthesia was local and when I woke up, I thought my chin was rubber....I ate a lot of chocolate pudding and watched a lot of '24'....And then I got dry sockets. ::)
If my living in the Greater Boston area is the only thing that would worry you, I don't think you'll ever have to worry.....Although, I do kind of want to live in the NYC area sometime, and that's pretty close to Boston....You may have to worry then. :P
Negative titles....well. I would've said the Grave Digger is for the warring people, but I was thinking that maybe Ben'll have to do something with graves, since he's a student of death and all.....but as far as I know, no one else has had jail time so....yeah.

So whats wrong with the Boston area??? You make it sound like its imposable for someone to want to live here. I mean whats so special about NYC anyway?? Oooo it a huge city, and whats outside of that city?? New Jersey. That's a big enough reason to not want to move there for me. I'm kidding but really stay out of Newark. I may hate the state I live in for the way that its run but I wouldn't want to move because Boston is that great.
I'm interested in what my title will be when I level, the only issue is that I probably wont be able to level for a couple of days. Tomorrow I have court and a meeting at work and Wednesday I have off to go party. So maybe buy the end of the week but probably not until next week.

Dry sockets did suck. I got 30 pills of hydro-codone after the operation. It was on a Friday. It wasn't until the next Wednesday that I didn't need them. I was down to 13 left....And there was no warning on the bottle not to drive, either, so I was driving around and it was in my law class on Wednesday that I found out that I could've got a DUI if I'd been pulled over. :o
Oh, and wisdom teeth have nothing to do with Choir. I know. I was in choir for 7 years before I got my wisdom teeth pulled. And 3 of those years were audition choirs, and competition was VERY high as a female....Unfortunately, I haven't sung in any choirs since I got mine pulled. That's not saying I haven't sung. Oh, yes, I have. I sing all the time. Music is fun.
And I wasn't saying there's something wrong with Boston. I was just saying I'm not interested in living there. I probably wouldn't really like NYC either, just because I'm not a huge fan of big cities. I like them, but living in them would be crazy. Suburbs on the other hand....But really, I love where I currently live. Small city (45,000), not a suburb, but plenty to do in the area. I could probably live here my whole life and never really get bored.
I'm not sure I want to level up. Sure, being Healed means, well....that I'm healed. Which is nice. But it's also boring. I mean, it's not nearly as exciting as a Mugged Helpworker, or a Recovering Helpworker...or even a Soup Kitchen Owner, and definitely not as cool as a Bringer of Aid.....

Hmm. I'm thinking maybe this 'Honored' to 'Churchfavored' may have been a tiny step up. Honored is ambiguous. Who honors you? But Churchfavored is straightforward. The Church favors you. And if this church spans across the world (whatever world that might be), then you could be favored by virtually everyone. That would be cool.
Plus, there's the difference between 'Honored' and 'Favored.' My take on honor is that you did something and are being praised for said thing. Favored means you will get to do something in the very near future, and if you stay favored, you'll do many somethings.....
Me though, I'm just a Healed Helpworker. And no one even knows what a Helpworker is. It's so sad. I hope I beat Comatose in leveling. I don't want to have the mystery spoiled for me. The next level has got to be better than this. It would be hard to get worse. Unless I got fleas....which I am still immune to... ::)

I can see that happening to Silk... possibly if she was juggling torches, or maybe pointy sticks... or gets knocked off the coffin in a freak tomato accident, and gets a concussion. We dont have a doctor in the coalition, do we? Well, at least we have a mortician, however disturbing. And a helpworker, whatever that is. Nobody knows what a "bygone" is either. Or what "zetta" means. So everybody gets zetta confused when you say zetta, lol.

And yes, Silk. Disturbing people tend to be a little enthusiastic. Some might say overenthusiastic....And Morticians lead the pack in the disturbingly overenthusiastic crowd....So I'll be a good little helpworker and keep him away....Well, as long as you're alive, anyway. I won't refuse him his duty, should a corpse call, even if that corpse is the body of a juggler friend.

I think maybe greatness is exactly like the 'famous' thing so people keep flocking to him, which would expand our Coalition greatly. This would be beneficial in the fight to defeat Chaos. Speaking of which, when is the short story supposed to be completed? Or partially completed? I'm dying with anticipation. And if I really die, that won't be good. Ok so I procrastinated a little bit with the story. With the holidays and my daughters first birthday and everything I haven't had the time. It will be ready very soon I promiss. I wouldn't be too worried about any premature deaths for you, that isn't to say that Ben won't be busy. I need to go find some contracts.

Ah. So a Ben Mortician is much more disturbing than, say, an Erik Mortician (if you were a mortician, anyway...)? Interesting. I didn't know the name of the mortician really mattered to the level of disturbation (yes, I DID just create that word. And I rather like it.....)
And it's okay that you procrastinated. I haven't really written a whole lot over the holidays, either....Oh wait. Yes I have. I re-wrote both my Prologue and Chapter 1....and I failed horribly with that re-write, but oh well. I've learned some things from that mind-numbingly wretched mistake that I probably wouldn't have learned otherwise....like my lack of skill with sentence structure.....but ANYWAY, moving past that.
I look forward to reading the epic battle when the procrastination finally wears off.....And good luck on the contracts. And the piling up of bodies for Ben. He needs work. Badly. Despite your assurances, I'm still not quite sure he's not going to come after a certain relatively recently healed helpworker.....His disturbation might convince him to re-wrong the stuff that was righted....

Now I don't think it will ever be as popular as it was a couple of months ago when there were hundreds of posts over a couple of days but it will always be fun.

To be honest, this thread dies from time to time. It will go months with only a couple of post to then be the most popular thread on the forum for a while. Now I don't think it will ever be as popular as it was a couple of months ago when there were hundreds of posts over a couple of days but it will always be fun.
I blame the holidays. :)

On a different note, though. I feel good. My jury service is done. I think. I'm pretty sure that after we gave the verdict both the attorneys said they didn't want to pool us again. So I'm done. Yay! It was fun. It was a good case, even if the subject matter sounded like it wouldn't be so good (it was sexual abuse....).
And now I get to sit in front of my computer for the rest of the day watching Season 2 of Chuck, since I just finished Season 1. I love this show. So good....

Well. I guess this means that all that singing (laughing?) didn't ruin your voice. In fact, it made it better. Now you're a soloist....You must be good. Really good. This means we as the Coalition can exploit that talent, making you perform so we can get money from the paying listeners. Yay for the Coalition's exploitations! I hope I'm not in the cross-hairs of them in the future.
And if you're a choir director, at least you won't be singing/laughing. You'll just...direct them. Obviously....So you're still moving up. You will soon be away from all choir-related duties. Hopefully.....Just like Paper might be free from the Camels (although I really must admit that I hope he isn't. We can't lose our mascot).
Maybe in 14 posts I'll be free from Helpworking....Maybe I'll be something that can actually be defined. Here's hoping.::)

I will admit that I do enjoy the glory that is Chuck. Its funnier than I initially thought it would be.
I have faith that you will one day be out of that choir and move on. Until that day this coalition could use the funds that we can generate with your vocal talents. I'm with wilson "yay for exploitation". I actually like exploitation in general so this just works out.

After my time as a brawler, convict, sword for hire, mercenary and or squadleader. Im sure I've done some things that need absolution.

Well, if we go by titles, you're totally right. I mean, an Expert Street Brawler will be in much more need of absolution than a Holy Knight....I'm thinking, though that the Brawler wouldn't think they needed absolution, but the Knight would be worried about every little slightly horrible thing they did wrong, and therefore would repent of those misdeeds at the first chance.....
My insane analyzations aside, though, I agree with you. Well. I agree that Shaggy would be the first to seek absolution. For some reason, I just don't see Jade caring that much. Even though I think he'd be the one that needed it the most....

I'm not sure about the first one. But I think I already said that if the Absolver needs Absolution, that's when someone gets the bright idea to replace the Absolver. This is when a Mercenary (or someone else, but a Mercenary would be a good choice, since we already have one readily available.....And why the heck am I giving advice to my possible future murderers?!) takes control (not of the Absolving, because if the Mercenary became the Absolver, said Mercenary wouldn't last very long with all the Absolving they'd need to do.....).
And for the second one. Hypothetically, I suppose so. But the Absolver would have to be coherent enough to grant the Absolution, and for some reason, I just don't see an Expert Street Brawler failing to fully beat up a person. Plus, in order for the Absolver to grant full Absolution, they would have to believe that the person is truly asking for Absolution.....And I just can't see an Expert Street Brawler caring that much right after having beaten up a person....
And anyway, a person would have to be AWFULLY low to beat up a man (or woman) of God.....Stupid hypothetical situations....::)

And when I said 'coherent' what I meant is that the Absolver needs to know who they're talking to, and what they're talking about, in order to truly grant Absolution....If the Absolver doesn't, I don't think the Absolution (if granted) counts, and therefore not only are the previous sins of the person (in this case, the Expert Street Brawler) still on that person's head, but so are the sins of confusing an Absolver....

First of all, I don't think you would have to worry about the mercenary taking a hit contract on you. He may take the contract but that doesn't mean he would follow threw with it. I know we mercenaries have a code of conduct but I wouldn't be breaking it if I just killed the person who took out the contract. That way I would get paid and I could rip up the contract.
I guess being a friend to a mercenary has its benefits. I mean I need to have an absolver around for all the sins I committ. Just because I committ sins doesn't mean I don't seek absolution for them. I know this statement may hurt my business but I think I will survive. Oh and Shaggy, if your looking for a street brawl I could always loose my weapons for a while and give it a go. I was quite the Street Brawler in my day. So much so that I ended up in prison so you should be careful.

I may need some absolving. I’m kinda getting sick of being a gardener and have a deeply rooted urge to throw vegetables at someone. I mean, how is being a Master Gardener better than the run of the meal, everyday sort of gardener? You still are stuck watching the grass grow all day…. :)

I think the graveyard would be a good place for a garden... all that fertilizer ready made, and a graverobber as a target. Then I can say I was doing the world a moral service by pelting him with my produce and have no more need of those extravagant absolution fees. Speaking of which, Wilson, isn't there some kind of code of conduct for you people that would make it unethical to push people to sin just so you could absolve them? :)

But you see, I speak vaguely when I push people to sin, so it's harder for someone to catch. It's a small form of manipulation....And it just occurred to me that I suck at manipulation so I don't know why I'm trying to do it here, but oh well.....I also don't know why I'm explaining my technique to those who I plan to use it on, but again, oh well. I guess it'll be a big point in my book if it still works.

It just might, because now I really want to hit the absolver instead of the graverobber. But if the absolver is corrupt, then I might be able to justify that one as well.... Wow, this has gotten complicated. It is a good thing that my present occupation allows lots of time for soul searching and working out all of life's moral ambiguities. :)

But.....no one can completely verify that the Absolver is indeed corrupt. Therefore, hitting the Absolver would be committing a sin in and of itself. You're hitting an inherently good person, a person who is only looking out for the welfare of other, wayward, individuals. Why would you hit such a person? It's simply cruel.
Now, if you want to throw a few vegetables at that graverobber, though....I think that just might be a good thing. You probably wouldn't even have to come confess to me. I mean, if Ben gets hit, he'd probably run away from his graverobbing for a few hours, so you're saving the graves of some not-so-lucky people who just couldn't quite keep their hearts beating. I think that's a noble endeavor, and therefore, Absolution is unnecessary...unless of course you deem it so.

Shaggy, there are multiple definitions of trolling, some of them not quite as derogatory as that one. Spamming is one version of trolling, and that's what you were bordering on. So you should probably go look up spamming.....because I wasn't calling you a prick.

Wow, thanks guys. Thanks to you, I have all kinds of things to do while I am stuck being a gardener and feel much more fulfilled.
1) Watch grass grow and keep track of apprentices.
2) Figure out all the moral implications of throwing veggies at various people because the absolver is corrupt.
3) Figure out how to prove that the absolver is corrupt to the general masses so we can all shun her.4) Genetically alter veggies so they have legs and can withstand brawler attacks.
5) Solve world hunger. Tell no one.

Your theoretical ridding of the world still won't effect me.....Because not only would you have to prove, theoretically, that I am truly corrupt, it would also still be just in theory....Not in truth. So regardless of whether or not I am corrupt, the point is, you'll never be able to prove it...even with armed and legged veggies...But I'm curious to see you try. Very curious. Particularly to see the outcome of the veggie experiments...It could get very interesting.

Geez, biased against other dressings much? Does everything have to be ranch? I mean, what about Honey Mustard, or Blue Cheese, or 1000 Island, or all the other kinds that I can't remember the names of because I just don't really care and we don't stock them where I work (although I do know that there's a red one that starts with a "c"...I think. Maybe it's a "k"...Catana?....I can't remember...)
And my reign of terror is so NOT "very real." First of all, it's not even a "reign" because I have no real authority. Do you see a crown on my head? What blasphemy is this? Of course it has to be ranch! Anything else would insult the memory of any poor theoretical veggie soldier that is ambushed by pruning shears while in pursuit of its noble mission to expose the corruptness of all corrupt Absolvers. It's the only kind of dressing I eat anyway. And even then it has to be real ranch, none of that low fat weird tasting stuff.
And I don't have to see a crown to know that you are the corrupter behind the throne. It is always the so called pious religious types. Didn't you see Disney's Three Musketeers? And that's just one of the many movie references I can think of and if you see it on TV it must be real. Which is why our camera wielding veggies will be so effective in proving your guilt. ;)
But there is no need for the average citizen to fear our theoretical army(Or graverobbers or mercenaries or whatever else). They will be made with only one purpose, to expose corruptness in all forms. Except for the gardeners because having a corrupt gardener is just too much fun.
That's the theory anyway, they could end up with fangs and breath fire, but that is just a risk we will have to take.
And Wilson, hitting people through computer monitors is my exclusive super power. You'll just have to get your own. :P

I believe that the theoretical army in question is a vegetable army, so I'm pretty sure the Coalition still exists. Plus, we CAN'T do away with the Coalition. Chaos the Tyrant is still out there. We must defeat the Lord Ruler.
And I'm pretty sure that I'm the one with the most money. I mean, Frog is a Master Gardener, and that career choice doesn't exactly rack in the dough, if you know what I mean....And Ben is a Graverobber.....if he's really sunk so low that he has to rob graves of all things, that really doesn't bode well for his financial situation....or his mental faculties. Me though? I'm an Absolver. And I'm sorry, but Absolution isn't free.
.....And for the recent posts that were posted as I was typing this. Frog, are you saying that you're planning on eating the army that you're going to create? I mean, if Ranch is the only dressing good enough for the veggies, and it's also conveniently the only dressing you eat, that stinks to me of cannibalism....or at least it would be if you were a Veggie yourself. I didn't say I was corrupt. Just that corrupt gardeners were fun to have. If anyone admitted to corruptness, it was you when you gave us a detailed explanation of your means of manipulating people while attempting to manipulate me.
And why would you have any money at all? No one actually absolved to you as far as I can tell, so if you did have money, it would be further proof of your corruptness, where as I seem to have lots of people willing to eat my veggies, mutants or no. And it is not cannibalism for gardeners to eat veggies. It's just one of those circle of live things. Veggies are made to be eaten and that is how they feel the most fulfilled. Only second to exposing corrupt absolvers, which they won't even have to do if I just let you keep talking long enough. After all, teaming up with an inmate, plotting against your ruling lord AND having a robber as a role model just doesn't look good. ;)

Robin Hood hardly counts as a "robber." I mean, can you really call someone a robber when they're robbing someone who's robbing others? And he was giving the money he robbed from the corrupt individual to the good people he associated with who were being lorded over by a tyrant.
And really, the Sheriff of Nottingham is better that the Lord Ruler. Doesn't matter if he's the ruler or not. He's a tyrant. If that means I'm like Kelsier, then that's just what it means.....Although, I would prefer not to go the way he went, if you know what I mean....I think I'd rather go the way of, say, Vin? Maybe Sazed. Sazed works too...
And I didn't say I was teaming up with Shaggy. I was merely saying that it seemed like he was siding with me. So an inmate teamed up with me, not the other way around. And yes, they are different.
The fulfilling role of veggies really doesn't sound all that fulfilling. I mean, ultimately, that fulfillment leads to their death. Obviously, Darwin's theory doesn't apply to theoretically mutated veggies. Sad that. I'd like to see a Veggie-style Survival of the Fittest. It could be interesting....

Well Wilson I would go deeming myself as the richest among us. I mean I am a famous mercenary. Me being famous kinda leans to me being good at what I do. And that kinda leads to me having money seeing how people have to pay me to do things. I think the whole mutated vegetable thing is getting a little out of hand. Now are they being made so that people can eat them? Is that their purpose or is it so they can root out evil?? I mean as a mercenary I have done some things in the past that could be seen as evil. Cold blooded murder isn't wrong as long as your being paid right?? Anywho, what I was trying to say is that maybe you should pick a less vulnerable plant to animate. Like a tree or maybe a patch of thorns. I don't know your the gardener.

I think that I am a master of theoretical magic. Of course, like all good masters of theoretical magic, I've dabbled in alchemy. Also, good theoretical magic doesn't come cheap. Therefore, I have the greatest financial standing.
Green - I haven't posted in like two months. I talked about it more over in Brandon's Forum, but short story is that I over-theorized with HoA and needed a break.
Frog - the mutant veggie Idea is bound to work. You should, however, include corrupt masters of theoretical magic in your list of people they don't attack.

I would never hurt our theoretical army. Any talk of eating them only came after saying if they fell in battle by another hand, aka yours, and because they would see being eaten as a high honor since they are already expired. And they aren't really aren't out to fight anyone anyway. We believe in the peaceful filming approach, which is why we don't need to animate trees or thorn bushes or anything else. And if you still want to squish them with mercenaries and suppress their journalist rights that would only prove your evilness further and they will go down like Kelsier.
Oh, and more posts. Of course they wouldn't attack their theoretical creator. Our alliance has already been established, after all. In theory anyway. :).

The Lord Ruler is a tyrant because Kelsier called him a tyrant and Kelsier is God. Or at least he's a pretty high religious figure in the Church of the Survivor, and I'm a member of that Church, so therefore, he's pretty important. I listen to what he has to say....or rather, to what he said, since he's not exactly speaking a whole lot anymore....
And I never said that those veggies wouldn't be able to distinguish ME from the general evillness of the world, just that they wouldn't be able to distinguish a MERCENARY from that....And then I was saying that we (the mercenary and myself) are misunderstood individuals. Because he's only minorly depraved, and now everyone seems to think I'm corrupt, and I'm not. This is a misunderstanding. Which makes me misunderstood...obviously.
And Andrew, with the way that post is worded right now, it seems like you're saying you wouldn't want corrupt masters of theoretical magic included on the no-attack list.....I understood what you meant. So first of all if we are drawing up battle lines and I were to pick a side I would probably side with the absolver. We both seem to be misunderstood. It would seem that only the truly evil would band together against a bringer of absolution. I don't think however that I would be joining any side that involved Andrew in any kind of leadership position. I have traveled down that road once and I know where following Andrew leads. . . . . . it leads to failure. I was once a follower of this Master of Theoretical Magic and it turned out poorly. In fact that is how TLR got proclaimed the HoA. Andrew could not defeat him even though he was evil. Although in retro spect I wouldn't call him evil, more like misguided. But that's beside the point. Let all of you who wish to think of yourselves as better than others feel free to raise an unholy army of veggie monster. Let you hide behind a crime against nature.

Unfortunately, I was defeated DEMOCRATICALLY by Chaos, not by the Lord Ruler. Although the 2 can seem kind of similar at times... So you really can't blame me. Besides, if you look at that thread, you can't tell me it's my fault. I did some good arguing .... er....debating .... there. If not for Ookla and his early endorsement of Chaos I might have won.

You ARE the person who got the most injured, but....the blame lies elsewhere.....Funnily enough, the person who started it is slightly more adept at snowboarding and therefore was hurt as much....Although I think I recall him posting elsewhere that he's not a big fan of snow sports, so maybe he's NOT very good, and he met just as many trees as you did.....I like that idea MUCH more.

Oh, and since you brought up snow-forts, have you built one yet, after all the snow you got? I mean, I reminded you about them at Christmas, and then you posted that there was a huge storm around New Years. So did you build one? Cuz that would rock....I haven't really been able to build a complete one yet, because....well. It stopped snowing. Until yesterday. And now there's snow on the ground. Only a couple inches, though, and I don't think it's packing snow...which sucks.
And to be on-topic. I'm not a good clinic worker....In fact, I plain suck. I said it was writer's clinic, but I haven't been writing anything lately, so I'm a terrible worker....

While we're on the topic of snow, this winter, there was a decent amount of snow on the ground, but my backyard is like flat and i tried sledding but I didn't move. And it sucked. So I built this awesome mound like three and a half to four feet high with a kind-of-gradual slope and then I braced my sled on it and pushed and I went so fast 'cause it iced over overnight and it was awesome!!! Hehe the pleasures of a 12-year-old kid.… :P

Which I knew he had to still be in jail, because his next level is a Prison Hero (?).....And THEN he's an Escaped Convict (I think)....So he's not out of jail until he's at Level 12....(again, I think, I can't remember for sure and I don't have the document pulled up on my computer...although my zip drive is hooked in and the doc's on there, so it really wouldn't be too hard to pull it up, but....oh well)

Although I haven't had a bad title in a while so I should start getting scared. Actually, it wasn't memory. I wasn't around when you were that lowly of a person....I only read about it. And because I was bored, I created a word document (it's actually the same document with all the incriminating posts made by Chaos...) with all the titles that I could figure out in all the classes...So yeah. I have many blank spots and the classes that have the least are Light Magic, Deception, Warfare, and Honor....So Loud, if you remember any of your past titles and level, I'd love to have them, to further my lack of a life....

Anyway. Loud makes a very good point. I'm slightly fearful of the possible creations that Ben and Miyabi would come up with....It would be less so if Andrew was on their side though....I have no fear of anything that Andrew comes up with in his current state.
I think it's cool that I will soon be surgeon. I'm sad that I wasn't the one to figure that out, but oh well...Now my goal is slightly harder to achieve, but I will still win the element of surprise/fear that accompanies a level up. I will. :P

BTW, I found Frankenstein rather boring. I'm sure it was terribly unnerving when it was written, and it's an interesting concept which could theoretically be frightening, but there's little in there to hold a modern adult reader's attention, I'm afraid.

I was supposed to read Frankenstein for my Brit Lit class I took almost a year ago...I read the Spark Notes for it...cheating yes, but...I started it, and it just didn't get my attention, so I sparknoted it, and I understand everything that happened in the book. In fact, I was able to hold a very intelligent discussion with a friend about the book. I didn't tell her that I hadn't read it until AFTER we were done. She couldn't tell....Anyway. Even if the writing didn't pull me in, the plotting of it was good. It was a good story, but...I hated Victor. He was so dumb. Argh....

Wait a second here. I feel some remorse for not having posted in almost a month. I haven't had the opportunity to catch up on all the past posts. What "New Coalition"??? I don't like the way this sounds. Why is there a need for a new one? Did the old one disband? I should hope this "New" coalition is not comprised of people leaving the Woodland Coalition (the only real coalition) because if it is then I may have to put my mercenary skills to good use hunting down traitors and the leadership of said "New" coalition.

Well, it is safe to say that quite a lot of people from the original coalition have now exceeded me in rank by A LOT. Perhaps a new coalition forms with the waves of new people coming to this site regularly. Who knows where a bored servant like myself might end up, eh? ;)

It's the only Coalition worth being a part of.

I mean, the last really cool title I had was Bringer of Aid and I literally cruised through that title. I was only a Bringer of Aid for, like, 2 days. It was sad....

I mean, Ookla's also a Student of Light Magic, but he's up in the level 40's which seems hardly attainable to me right now...Whereas you're only 3 levels higher than me. So the titles you get I can actually see myself getting in...oh...a month. Or two....There was a time when I would've said I'd be there later on in the week, but I no longer post nearly so prolifically....And that's probably a good thing.

SE's a Student of Divinity...So I think God of the Heavens only applies to them....The highest level I know of for us is Level 56--High Ward Leader...I wish I could be a God of the Heavens, though. It's a children's book. It isn't supposed to be overly realistic. Being realistic is no fun anyway. But at the same time, I think some of the deaths she added in irritated me a bit more than if Harry died because like you said, Harry bugged me more than once.

That is random, but this seems to be the place for random questions, so why not?
According to wikipedia, a popover is 'a light, hollow roll made from an egg batter similar to that used in making Yorkshire pudding. The name "popover" comes from the fact that the batter swells or "pops" over the top of the muffin tin while baking. They can also be baked in individual custard cups.'
But I didn't really know that. I just knew that the quotes came from a movie I loved growing up, The Muppet Frog Prince (loosely of course since the the frog in the movie was a he). Well, anyway, the witch in the movie keeps sticking popovers in the frog's mouth so he can't tell the king about her evil treachery and then later she tells the king that 'we can't let the frog go hopping around the castle' and he agrees, because the frog ate all the popovers.
So basically in context it means 'Shut up, Frog!' which applies to me often on the forum, so I put it up... even if I am probably the only one that would understand it. ;)

Wow I know I've been gone for a while but have I become lame??? I think your right. I took the easy way out on that one and I'm disappointed in my self. I mean sure she is the wife of an ex-president, she was a presidential hopeful and shes a leader in the democratic comunity but I'm sure it wouldn't be too hard to get to her. With all that aside, you are still correct. Bullet?? Really, I said that? Wow. Let me clear that up real quick.
I'm going to stat this off by saying that my price will still be what I quoted minus the cost of the "bullet". In all reality I have acquired many wide ranging skills involving my chosen field. After having spent some time in prison and then going from brawler to sword for hire to mercenary ext. I feel I know a thing or two, not only that but you get to know other people and or groups who are also in your field. I will take this chance to mention shaggy, an aspiring man in our field who finds the need to call me out for my "bullet" when he clearly puts a price on sniping missions in his price quote. But I digress.
So using my knowledge of my field I would most likely contract out the job of taking care of Hilary's security. I mean I am only one man and although I have faith in my evasion tactics it wouldn't do to sneak around just to be caught when Hilary starts to scream in pain. So I would go with the most logical of choices. I would hire a clan of rouge ninjas to efficiently take care of Hilary's on site security. I figure Bill probably isn't with her because, well who would be given the choice. Once her security has been neutralized I will move in. Now you may think that sneaking into someones room and waking them with the point or edge of a rather vicious looking weapon is satisfying but that's not my style. I prefer using the doorbell. This gives Hilary the chance to wonder why no one answering the door. Then it gives her the chance to get out of bed and get dressed (that always stinks when you were sleeping). Here's the best part and you must remember to cut the phone and internet lines before you proceed. Hilary will then have the chance to walk to the door witnessing the aftermath of ninjas intent on killing. Bodies with slit throats and broken necks just strewn about. All this while I relish her screams every time she stumbles accross another body while I wait at the door. Now I know she probably isn't coming to the door at this point so I take the liberty of entering. I perform a slow scan and eventually find little Hilary huddled in a corner tightly holding a kitchen knife. She has this far off look of horror on her face as I slowly pull out my sword. Its nothing special, no decoration but its very sharp and very efficient. At this point she must be realizing that her knife will do her no good as I take the last couple of steps to close the distance. . . . . .

Sniping does not necessarily involve bullets. According to dictionary.com ( 8), 'to snipe' means 'To shoot at individuals from a concealed place.' This does not have any mention of bullets, guns, or other contemporary items that we usually associate with the word 'sniping.' In the noun form (once again, from dictionary.com), a 'snipe' is 'A shot, especially a gunshot, from a concealed place.' As before, no bullets or contemporary assassination equipment(s) are mentioned.

I mean the list includes such things as naked skiing with friends, sometimes involving unwanted contact with pine trees, to helping in forming a militia with friends who work together to help eachother. I even ran the squad of people who were in charge of the militia security for a while. Don't let the title hold you back, I mean a mercenary can do pretty much whatever he wants so enjoy it while you can there guy. You might even reach the level where you scare all of the other posters away with an overly descriptive post about how you do your job as a mercenary, but that's all part of the fun. ;D

CthulhuKefka- I by no means intended to exclude you. I find that I am more like you these days anyway. I'm an intermittent poster. No where near as constant as I once was. I'm sure there are others out there who were part of the coalition and I don't mean to leave them out either. I just have to hang my head and realize that the time of the Woodland Coalition may be near its end. Knowing that I almost wonder what will happen when the previously forseen coming darkness arrives. But I guess we will find out. This mercenary might be wandering around for a while.

Schlock Mercenary. It's a webcomic by Howard Tayler and it's hilarious. I love it. Two weeks ago, I started reading it, beginning on Book 3, which is from 2003....So I read about 6 years of comic strips in 2 weeks. Wow....

Schlock Mercenary. It's a webcomic by Howard Tayler and it's hilarious. I love it. Two weeks ago, I started reading it, beginning on Book 3, which is from 2003....So I read about 6 years of comic strips in 2 weeks. Wow....
And that is a really cool avatar. Makes me want to change mine, and yet..I don't really have anything better to change it to...*shrugs* oh well.
I actually did the same thing a couple months back. I was sick and out of school for a few days and I think that helped.
And yay! I've been experimenting with a couple different avatars but didn't find anything I wanted to change to, until I saw this one! Cool!

An interesting question. Especially in a society such as this where, unfortunately, one doesn't necessarily have to have talent to be popular. Methinks the order of those two ranks should be reversed. One should become popular, then learn to cope with the demand of stardom by upping the talent pool. ;)
Then again, if one is talented to begin with, it is a moot point. :D

Oh yes, I know my own. Not only that, I have a document on my flash drive where I'm collecting the titles of ALL the levels. Or at least trying to....It's a little difficult, especially since there was a couple weeks when I came on here very rarely, and I seem to have missed some prolific posting of certain people, and they shot up a few levels. And they were the people I was supposed to be watching (ie: they were on the brink of titles I didn't know...).
And if you're curious, yes I was bored....I didn't have a life when I started it. Now I do. And since I'm still curious, this whole 'having a life' thing makes it rather hard... ::)

Pretty much...It got really hard once I got down below level 10. There are so many members who don't have classes now, because they're not active anymore, so the lower the level, the more people, and the more inactive people w/o classes....Plus there are the "more popular" classes like Light Magic, Dark Magic, Warfare, and Honor...and kind of Nature and Deception....the rest aren't as common (Death, Martial Arts, Divinity, and Servitude).
But oh well. I've come across some really cool titles....But I must say, that I'm glad that I picked Light Magic. I've had a fun life so far...Whereas the people in deception all get fleas...multiple times. I don't like fleas...

Level 56--High Ward Leader....I think that's '42', although I'm not positive.
I personally like the phase Ookla's going through right now. He was an 'Uncertain Mage' and then a 'Dark Magic Dabbler' and then an 'Expelled Wizard' and now he's a 'Fallen Wizard.' I find it entertaining...
Oh, and I also found a typo in the titles too. Levels 16 to at least 21 are Swordsmans for the Honor class. Well, Level 21 is a 'Questing Swrodsman'...

And I've actually only been here a little over a month longer than Shaggy. I think do hold the record for most leveling in shortest amount of time. I once went through 4 levels in one day. It was insane. That was pretty much my whole "Hermit" stage (Hermit, Enlightened Hermit, Lonely Hermit, etc).

Yes I always thought the Jedi religion would have produced people like the Emperor and the Sith religion would have produced the Obi Wans and Yodas. Because without passion and compassion (VERY earthly emotions) you really can't care enough to try and stop the biga badas.

One thing I don't like about the Christian religion is that they tried for so long to hide all of the gnostic books that talked of knowing oneself and finding a personal relationship with God. Most Christian religions now are extremely focused on their hierarchy and the need of priests and such. Very few of them encourage people to find God themselves and to gain a personal relationship with him. They are all about going to church and worshiping with the congregation and the need for confessing to a priest or father instead of talking of these things with God himself. They say that most people aren't worthy to speak directly to god and that he only speaks to higher authority figures within the church.

It is well accepted amongst most of the biblical scholar community that the majority of these books were written within the same time period and under the same circumstances. The differences were that some supported the hierarchy of the church and others supported individual relations with God. It was at the council of . . . I forget the word, where Constantine united the Christian faiths together and decided what would best serve to unite Rome that these books were suddenly considered heresy and banned from within the faith.

Sorry Miyabi this is my discipline. Majority is certainly not in agreement that the gnostic gospels are of an age with the NT writers. Also Constantine was only able to consolidate the Roman church as he had no authority beyond Rome's admittedly huge borders. But even within the Roman Empire their continued to be dissent.
There has never been a time when there was a single monolithic Christian church. It has always been sectarian. And wide divisions on a lot of issues have predominated. However, one thing that has always been in agreement and it goes back to the Council of Nicea, is the canon. In fact the Jewish sects that reject the New Testament as a work from an opposing faith, agree with criteria and methodology that rejects the gnostics. The canon of the TaNaKh (Torah, Nevyim, Khetuvim) is identical to the OT for this reason.

I'd generally like to second what Renoard is saying, with the exception of noting that, in Western Europe, the Catholic Church was pretty monolithic for about 1,000 years. Not 100% exclusively so, but at least 90-99% so.
I also happen to belong to a Christian religion that supports pesonal relationships with deity (as do many other members of this forum).

The Mormon faith is young when it comes to religions. In this manner it is actually quite a ground-breaking religion.
Renoard - The majority of the people that study ancient documentation agree that they all come from around the same period in time. The consensus TRENDS towards them all having been written within 2-3 generations of the passing of the people in which they are named after.

It is true that the gnostics were written in a cluster near one another and the majority of scholarship agrees that this was at least as late and the 4'th century.
To find a majority of scholars who agree that the works of the New Testament were written that late you would have to take a sample that did not include those who are members of various Christian sects. I'm not arguing about faith. But you have to find skeptics and crack-pots who have a vested interest in disproving any divine origin in order to find any large number who are willing to go out on a limb and claim definitively that any of the NT texts were not written by the men who's names were applied.
The issue arises because we don't have a single manuscript, meaning something written in the hand of the writer. We have only copies of copies because the media themselves were subject to wear and tear. Also because the letters (in the case of the epistles) were circulated and possibly even collected into anthologies. Instead redaction and hermeneutics have to be applied, along with archeology to determine dates relative to verifiable events, language patterns and quirks of the author.
You have to be a pretty dishonest scientist to say that the because of the carbon dating of the media on our oldest copy is X therefore the document is only as old as X. So instead, we get a lot of vague claims most of which are pretty specious and which come from wild-eyed extremists with an axe to grind. It's been vogue to bash the Bible, Christians and Jews for so long that people have begun to accept hate speech as science and bias as scholarship.
But when you allow ALL the players at the table (i.e. don't exclude those who happen to believe the bible's contents) in the debate about the language science. The TREND is toward the men who are named as author being the men who were the writer's or at most the men who dictated the content to an amanuensis. Granted they probably used a document which has been lost as a reference work, but that doesn't precluded the idea that men facing death may have written or dictated their accounts in order to preserve their faith.
My Advisor was a Harvard Don who would have sneered at the idea of the gnotics being contemporary with the four NT.
But we've gone pretty far afield from discussion of the Level titles. Can't wait to see what I get next. ;D

Yes, yes we have. ha ha. I guess the knowing exactly when they were written is still debatable, but some of them were referenced as early as 150 A.D. making them have been written the same time and the current NT.

I don't think that you should completely disregard the possibility. By doing so you are closing something out that can't be proven. If anything you should leave yourself with an open mind on the issue.
That is one of the biggest problems people have about things these days. They close their mind. They make a solid decision and choose to not believe anything else.
Doubt can be more powerful and helpful than faith in many situations. If you have a slightest doubt within your belief, then you will more easily accept things when you are wrong. Change will not shock you as much. Things will come easier to you as your thoughts become open to newer, more radical ideas.

You should study Astrology before you make it to Christianity. Then, once you start looking at it, make sure to take into account the symbolism in both and the Astrological time periods the bible takes place in. As well as the rising and falling of the "son/sun" and even the tail of the birth. There are quite the numerous numerous parallelisms.
