So I often think about, if I had the opportunity to be one of the characters in the Mistborn series who would I be and for what reason. I mean Sure they all have their ups and downs and I'm sure we have all thought about it a time of two so why not throw it out there and see who you would be.
I for one wish I thought enough about myself to pick Kell but I'm a little more realistic and I don't think I'm that much of a genius. So I would pick Elend, I wouldn't even pick him because of what happens at the end of MB2, I think I would pick him because even though he doesn't always know what hes doing he knows why hes doing it. He does what he believes in and I like that. That's something I think I could get behind.

See me, on the other hand, consider myself more than arrogant enough to pick Kell regardless of whether or not I think I'm a genius. But if I wasn't Kell, I'd be Zane, for sure.

I was close to picking both of those guys. Strangely closer to picking Zane than Kell but that could be because of the voice inside my head.

I love the keepers of knowledge type characters. I relate to them the most. Plus, for some reason, I empathize with him.

Breeze. I've always really liked his character and I seem to understand him a lot more than any of the others. Now as to whether or not that means I'm anything like him is another question entirely, but if it's my choice...

I would be Yomen.
I could tell you why, but that would be a spoiler.
There's only a couple things we know about Yomen at this point. He was an Obligator from Urteau that was opposed to Lord Cett and invaded Fadrex when Cett invaded Luthadel. At this point 'The Citizen' took over Urteau, assuming that Yomen is not actually Quellion. It's possible that Yomen is the third voice in the conversation, the one that says 'Until that bastard Venture took control'.
Anyway, I've been curious about Obligators for some time, because of a quote paragraph or two that seem straightforward but could have a different meaning.
“My . . . obligators . . .” the Lord Ruler whispered.
“Your obligators will forget you,” Marsh said. “I will see to that. The other Inquisitors are dead, slain by my own hand. Yet, the gathered prelans saw you transfer power to the Canton of Inquisition. I am the only Inquisitor left in Luthadel. I rule your church now.”
“No . . .” the Lord Ruler whispered.

The Lord Ruler cast his eyes down at the crowd, and the final realization of his failure seemed to hit him. He looked back up at the ring of people who had defeated him.
“You don’t understand,” he wheezed. “You don’t know what I do for mankind. I was your god, even if you couldn’t see it. By killing me, you have doomed yourselves. . . .”
Look at it in this light. The Lord Ruler was trying to say something important about the Obligators but Marsh, who may have been controlled by Ruin at this point, interrupts him. I seriously doubt that TLR cared about whether he would be remembered anymore. Then he looks down at the crowd, or at least in their general area. It could also be in the general area of the Canton of Orthodoxy Headquarters. Hmmm? Hmmmmmm?

I picked Marsh, because it thought it would be the most picked.
i rock.
And because he has alot to overcome. I also have an inner struggle, i guess its empathy--an age old binding that authors try and forge between character and reader. He got me, he found my type of character. Everytime i think about Marsh or Zane my heart begins to throb and the throbbing blossom in a full garden of dread, usually i take in a deep breath--which douses it, but only temporarily. The word is Catharsis. Thats what happens.

You know I attempted to add a variety of characters to this pole but I didn't realize that I didn't include any obligators. My apologies to all, it was a failing on my part and that's all I can say. Actually come to think about it I could have added Ruin because we know it is a thinking and acting entity although we don't know too much about it. But hind sight being what it is I guess there isn't much to be done.

I went with Zane. If I had the abilities of a mistborn I too would be extremely arrogant and insane. I wouldn't even need the spike I truly believe that with that kind of power I would become an absolute maniac. Don't get me wrong I wouldn't go all evil just completely insane.

I just realized that the two initial people that sprouted the plan of overthrowing TLR are dead. That's really sad, they didn't even get to see their plans take full affect...

heh, well, i havent read all of MB1 yet, I'm like 3/4th of the way through (i've been throttling back my reading in recent). It's ok, though, i fully well expected to run across spoilers from posting here as long as i'm behind the curve. I knew about Kleiser, but first ive heard about Dox :P

I would be the mist spirit because it would be fun. I would find a lamp and pretend to be a genie whenever someone walked by.
I'm sure I could be an even better charades player as well. I'd hold up 11 fingers (Hey, I'm made of mist) and Vin would say 'Okay, Eleven words' and then I'd nod my head. And then I'd point to an invisible watch on my arm and she'd say 'An event' and I'd nod again. Then I'd hold up one finger and she'd say 'First word' followed by my nod. Then I'd wave my arms back and forth over one another, she'd say 'Safe' and I'd shake my head no and then she'd say 'No' and I'd start twirling my finger signifying that she needed to keep guessing and then eventually she'd say 'Don't' and I'd put my finger on my nose. Then I'd hold up 11 fingers and then point at the well. Naturally she'd say 'Well' and I'd point to my nose again. Then I'd just twirl both hands until she said 'Don't let the evil force of Ruin out of the well.'
If I could talk, I would say 'Get ready to laugh, get ready to laugh' and then I'd make my head appear out of the back of someones pants and say "Gee, must’ ve taken a wrong turn at Albuquerque!".

I picked the Lord Ruler. He has the evil tyranny thing down perfectly. I just love villains, especially ones with godlike power. The Lord Ruler fits this, and so, if I could be the Lord Ruler, I could release all my villainous urges. It'd be fun.
In second, I would be Elend, but the Lord Ruler is so much cooler...

Frankly, this thread would be better served voting for other people. It's interesting how people view themselves and how other people view them.
I would vote for Ookla the Mok as Breeze, just because he is always manipulating everyone. ;)

EDIT: I find it kind of funny that no one has picked Vin yet. I mean i'm aware that the female posters have not posted for the most part at least so I guess I understand. But wow not a single vote for her.

I was going to vote for Vin, since she's the only girl and I'm not in the mood for a sex-change, but decided on Elend instead because his personality really is more like mine - idealistic, legalistic, bookish. I have little in common with Vin other than gender; I've never had trust or abandonment issues, nor do I suspect people of using me as an assassin.

I picked Sazed for these reasons:
1. I LOVE learning new things. Especially when it comes to government and philosophy. The way people interact and view things around them just inspires me.
2. I would NOT be able to keep away from the action. I would feel compelled to be there and share what knowledge I could to help.

My first choice would be Ten'Soon, I'm kind of a mooshy, shapeless, person :P
But in reality I see myself as Zane. Everyone who knows me already thinks I'm insane, I have a metal spike in my chest, and I get random thoughts that make me laugh and/or want to hurt someone.....

I'd be Captain Demoux because I have been preaching Kelsierism to everyone I know. And also, this one time I suddenly felt a surge of power enabling me to beat up the 4th grade schoolyard bully. At that moment I knew someone out there was helping me and that Vanessa would never mess with me again. Ok, I didn't beat her up but I did prevent her from giving me a wedgie and while she did keep picking on me, that all stopped when I started hanging out with an older person on the playground. Although Vanessa did start again in the 9th grade when my mom stopped being a recess attendant, but by that time I had learned to cut my underwear with a scissors so that they pulled out cleanly without hurting me. I eventually got even when I posted some rather rude comments about her on my myspace page; It was worth having to sleep on the couch though. Ahhh, Kelsierism, there's always another secret.

I have a rich taste (except for the hat thing). I complain plenty, but deep down inside i really care. Plus i'm extremely lazy. And younger women have a thing for me. :P

Well I for one totally relate to Vin. I didn't have a terrible life like her--but I understand her trust issues. She's a totally realistic girl--and I'd like to think I am a totally realistic girl too. She's pretty much the coolest--and her powers would be freakin awesome. Finesse and stealth are the way to go.
So--I picked Vin. Some people might think it disturbing that I relate to her and see a lot of characteristics in her that are in myself...but I think it's perfectly normal... :)

Breeze. When I read the third book, I was like, "But Brandon hadn't met me when he submitted this book! How did he get me down so accurately?" The answer came to me one day while looking over some bushes into Brandon's living room.
I really wonder where Breeze turned out to be such a nice guy. Nobody knew, but he's the reason they succeeded!
I would love to be Sazed as well. Being able to float using Feruchemy would be sweet.

Don't even feel remotely like a Eunuch, but after the first book the charcaters I most identified with was Sazed. His insatiable need for knowledge and understanding, and his selfless want to help others. The first character I truly liked.

All it means is that your three dimensional. Well, this only says that you have to dimensions, but we can assume if you have two you'll have all of them. Its sort of like Allomancy, it is.
Or, this could also mean that your just a girl, i assume your a girl because of some otherwise elusive evidence that i have cunningly taken note of (default pic, and name). And we all know that all women have their shy, insecure side as well as their Demon-God(dess) Wrathfulness too.
Its typical. Your typical. No! I'm kidding, i just thought it..be..fu--, bye. :-\

Ugh. Spook. Don't laugh.
Overly sensitive. Shy. Other people find it difficult to understand me when I speak (but that's because I mumble everything, not because talk like this I do). And I think I'd enjoy being a Thug about as much as Spook did. Y'know, tearing doors off their hinges and stuff. Oh and I stare into space a bunch. And, uh, I kind of hear other people's conversations without trying, which can be embarrassing for both of us.
On the other hand, I didn't have an abusive, stupid, selfish father and I don't have any nicknames. Um, and I never even had the courage to give a lady a handkerchief. And I'd probably just die on the spot if someone jabbed me in the shoulder, particularly if a piece of steel broke off. And I'll never be a main character, not even in the final chapters.
Well, whatever. Lestibournes is still the character I relate to most.
Oh, and now that HoA is out it's obvious that Ook is Yomen because he saw the future book before everyone else. Just thought I'd mention it since it hasn't been brought up again until just now.

I would probably pick Sazed or Elend, Sazed as a first choice. I'm more of a scholar, and like finding new information on subjects im interested in, and sharing it with others. I'm probably less (much, much less) of a warrior than Elend *becomes*, so if i had a power like Sazed had, I would only use it in times of dire need, so i could relate to Sazed more than Elend. Except i'm not a feruchemist. Or a (*SPOILER!!!!!*) god. and i'm definitely not a eunuch. Ive checked ;D.

Elend, and there are many reasons!
For starters, he hates social parties as much as I do, and the only reason I'm not always reading there is because my parents won't allow me.
What is more, I love reading, too, and, even though I diskike economics and such, I lite to read the actual laws, so no politician is going to lie to me about that.
Besides, when I read tWoA bookd, I completely identified Elen's attemps of being a King with my own attemps of being a forum administrator in a forum - believe me , they're so similar (the ideals, the thoughts, the reactions...)! Even the ending was similar, but then, sadly, I had no Vin.

I be Breeze, because I'm a smart aleck and I try to get other people to do my work for me whenever possible! (OK not really, but he's still one of my favorite charcaters.)

My first thought was kell. Mostly because i have a bit of a compulsion to get people to do better, even though realistically it usually just seems to make me look more patronizing than anything else. (I might be a genius also, but who doesnt really like to say that about themselves) But in the end i had to go with breeze, i might be a tad manipulative, its never to do something harmful, and i am basically a good person, but i try to keep that dirty little secret well hidden. And i never feel like gtting my own drink. That more than anything else made me go with breeze.

I love Sazed and Kelsier, but I related to Elend very well from the beginning. He's idealistic, loves political theory, honest to a fault, and so sincere and innocent. :) And some of his sacrifices were amazing!

Maybe I'm a little like the Elend from the first book (his character changed a lot in the second and third). Reading a book at a party is exactly the kind of thing I do.

Okay, I know I'm a girl but i like Elend anyway. The way he changes from a foolish nobleman to a ruler of a dominance is just so cool.

Wasing the thought of the being of Spook, but deciding of the not. Wasing probably who I am the most of being like, but I am the liking of the Marsh more. If wasing there being another Feruchemist who notting of the personality of Sazed or Tindwyl, I wasing the would of choosing them.
If any person fluent in Eastern street slang were to read the above, they would probably be laughing. Not like I know anyone fluent in Eatern street slang.
