Title pretty much says it all.
I've been reading H.P. Lovecraft for about 8 or 9 years and I must say, he is by far my favorite horror author. Granted, the first time few times I read his stuff, I had to have a dictionary beside me, but it only added to the fun I think. ;D

I have yet to read any Lovecraft. Although, ever since I bought this game, for X-box, Call of Cthulhu I have really wanted to. When I fist started playing the game I was like WTF! as it is a pretty crazy game. The whole point is to try to solve a mysterious crime while staying sane after encountering some alien god. It's pretty intense.

I've read a couple of his stories, I have most of them. But I am working my way around to it again. He is a very very interesting author and the Cthulu Mythos is fabulous :)

I hate Lovecraft. Hate, hate, hate. It galls me that my husband buys Lovecraft and so I have to see it sitting on my shelf. I shake my tiny fist of rage.

Lovecraft (and his crew, of course. The authors who wrote along side him etc.) are the greatest horror writers ever, in my opinion. I love the mythos, and the unique way they describe things in such an other worldly nature.

I guess I will at least give him a chance. I'm not too into horror books, but I would be interested in finding out if its any good.

I'd say the best story to read to start off is "The Statement of Randolph Carter."
It's only like 6 pages long (something like that) and it is utterly awesome.

Thanks guy Im gonna have to start before HoA comes out. It'll give me something new to read.

While not lovecraft specifically, check out "Hounds of Tindalos" by Frank Belknap Long.
He worked with lovecraft to help develop the mythos, and this is easily one of my favorite stories.
There's also two stories im thinking of, but cant remember for the life of me what they are, that lovecraft and someone else wrote, and the two main characters of each story were based upon each other, and in each story they killed off the other persons character. I thought those were neat, probably moreso because they had that novel, joking with each other, sort of concept to it, but they are good. (Anyone know what i'm talking about or do i just look crazy?)
