Title: Rock on...
Post by: The Holy Saint, Grand High Poobah, Master of Monkeys, Ehlers on August 04, 2008, 06:56:16 PM
I have not just one, but TWO new playlist ideas forming in my head.

The first is more complete:

#1: Rock on Rock

#2: Rock on Resistance

As always, commentary and esp suggestions are not only encouraged but requested.

Ok so I like the Rock playlist but the resistance one is a little slim. Although the CCR song is fantastic. No Ramones?

the idea is that people would suggest items for the list. The resistance one was more that I had enough to be the seeds of a playlist.

Adn the Ramones strike me more as rebellious than "resistors." More James Dean and less John Lennon to them.

Agreed, now I see where your going with this. I'll have to put some thought into it and maybe have some input.

I'm going to have to re-listen to a few of those, i thinks.

Personally, I don't care for RATM, though much of their oeuvre is specifically resistance/rebellion. Because of my personal tastes, I won't be adding them though.

Slight correction: Old Time Rock and Roll is Bob Seger.  I would also add ROCK in the USA by John Mellencamp.
