It was recently brought to my attention that the Oscars are this Sunday, which means that it's high time for our annual Oscar Predictions contest. For those of you who are new, here's how it works: I post this list, you all post your predictions as responses in the same thread, and we cut off the responses Saturday night. Whoever picks the most winners correctly wins the praise of everyone, everywhere in the world, as represented by a little icon you can stick next to your forum profile. I won last year, and I intend to win again this year, even if I have to murder you all to do it. The gauntlet has been thrown.
Some quick notes:
1) Each year I do the 6 big ones, the two writing ones, and two that I think will be interesting categories. This year those categories are Art Direction and Cinematography.
2) Yes, the Oscars are basically just a commercial industry patting itself on the back. We know. That doesn't mean they're not fun to predict, Mr. Elitist.

Last year we got the icon thingy if we were 60% or better. I still have my Oscar 2007 icon proudly displayed. Any chance of doing it like that again?

Well, by my count I got 7/10. Not the winner, certainly, but not dead last either. I enjoyed the oscars this year, I actually agreed with most of the choices. Now I actually have to get out and see some of the films.
