Title: MUDs - Do you?

I'm a big fan of playing text MUDs online, versus the graphic MMORPGs. The fact that it's an RPG that is all text means you've got extra wiggle room for creativity - much fun. It's also easier on an older computer like mine.

I was curious if I was the only one? If you're not sure what I'm talking about, here's an example of one that I play - http://www.achaea.com

I do :) In fact, I help run one, wotmud :)

The one I help run is the Wheel of Time MUD (http://www.wotmud.org), which has been running for 15 years and, as the title suggests, follows the Wheel of Time theme :).

For those of you who have never MUDded before, there is a useful page here (http://www.wotmud.org/mud.php) which explains some of what MUDding is about, what's fun about it and so on.

If you have any further questions about MUDs, don't hesitate to drop me a mail via these forums or in-game :)

I used to MUD like no tomorrow :D

In fact, nass... I think I was in the WoT MUD you speak of for a while ! :D

Ahh...the good old days when you didn't need a high powered computer to game with :D

I would join another MUD but I don't have much time anymore ....*sigh*

Ah, that brings back some memories. :)  I used to play a MUD based in Sweden called Midnight Sun.  That lastest until I got out of college and got a real job.  Suddenly, I didn't have the time to play like I used to.  I guess that's part of growing up.

Even with all of the MMORPGs out there these days, MUDs still have a fond place in my heart.

I haven't even considered playing a MUD. Before I looked at this thread, i didn't know they were called MUDs. And I can kind of tell you are a WoT fan just by your picture, nass

in ur MUD, are you a character from WoT or are you just like a warrior/magic/ranger kinda thing?
