Title: writing theme music
Post by: Tage on January 16, 2007, 06:58:20 PM
I figured all you nerdy writers would want to have some theme music as you sat down to do your thing. Well, you can't beat this:

DISCLAIMER: I don't know who or what this is, only that it was described to me as "epic fantasy metal." And no, it's not a joke, they're really serious about it.

Man.  And here I was thinking you were inviting us to write theme music for the Tage Fan Club®.

I haven't had a chance to listen to it yet, but I can't help but think of the guy on Beauty and the Geek who is the lead singer of a Star Wars band.

That was quite the experience.
Not really inspiring me to write, but it does inspire me to watch "Army of Darkness"...sometime.

Awesome!!!!111!!!!ONEELEVEN!!

Seriously, these guys are like...the power metal warriors of good, standing against all those other power metal bands fighting on the side of the Dark Lord! I was not even aware that the world needed such a band, but have now seen the error of my ways.

listening right now. Not very impressed.

Those who thought this was awesome might be better off listening to Kamelot, which is musically more interesting and vocally less... cheesy.

For that matter, Led Zeppelin. Metal bands have been writing music with lyrics and themes of a fantasy bent for over 30 years.

ok... i posted that before the end of the song. Right about the 3.5 minute mark we get that silly monologue. Is this whole song *supposed* to be a funny?

I don't think so. The main problem is probably that neither the songwriter nor the singers are native English speakers.

Well there's also the problem that the music wasn't very interesting.

Oh My Gosh. I can't help laughing hysterically. LOL!  ;D

This is one of my younger brother's favorite songs. He plays it for me all the time. Do you WoW people listen to the same music? Was that who lead you to this?

By the way, who you calling a nerdy writer? I wasn't the one lining up at midnight to buy the WoW expansion pack with all the other WoW geeks.  Even my brother waited until the next day. ;)

"nerdy writer" is not a perjorative label.

You're probably right. I keep fogetting that "geek" and "nerd" are good things on here. Thus my complex and in-the-closet-nerdiness.  ;)
