This message is more for people who know me than peole I've never met.
Having not done any writing recently except for manga rewriting, I'm currently doing the English Adaptation (a.k.a. rewriting) for volume 3 of .hack//Another Birth, which follows the events of the 3rd .hack video game (but from BlackRose's point of view). I'm doing this very fast since I'm under a deadline of less than 2 weeks from now, but I think it's going more or less okay. Still, I'd like some feedback I might put to use for the parts I haven't gotten to yet. Anyone interested? The book's on track to be about 49,000 words long, and I've gotten through a quarter of that. I...didn't start at the beginning, though, since I hadn't ramped up my writing yet; I started about 10 pages in and will go back to the beginning later.
Uh...it's more or less YA sci-fi/fantasy. With very Japanese attitudes. And the kind of feedback I'd be looking for is things I'm screwing up, writing-wise. The story itself is set in stone.

I would, but I don't think I'd have the time to give you feedback in the timeframe you need. Plus, probably goes against some noncompete thing in my contract. :/
-
I would be willing to read this but you haven't met me in person so if you'd rather not have me look at it I won't be offended. Â :)
P.S. I am not familiar with the videogame at all--I don't know if I need to be.
-
Don't worry about it, stacer. :)
Chimera--good enough. I'll send it your way. Unfortunately I discovered when I got home last night that my wireless router had given up the ghost, so I'll have to take the effort to connect my computer to the internet (which I'm not sure it will do without a new router, because of MAC address filtering at the ISP). Anyway, I'll get it to you when I can.

I think I might be able to give it a read. I can't be certain, I'm a little behind in my school reading, but if it's only 49k words, I should be able to fit it in.
-
It wouldn't even be necessary to read all of what I send, which wouldn't be the whole thing anyway (since it's not done yet). :)
-
I'll read it.
-
Okay, I sent it off to 42 and Nessa. Thanks! Chimera, I don't have your e-mail address.
Tonight I went back and filled in the beginning, so you don't have to start in the middle of nowhere anymore. Of course, book 2 ended on a cliffhanger and book 3 (which this is) starts right from there without any backstory, so...
Got a big writing day tomorrow. Ugh, I need Sunday to come soon.
-
Got it. I will begin reading it forthwith.
-
I should volunteer since I'm probably one of the few people around here that's played the Video Games and saw the original Anime. Â You can e-mail it to me if you want Ookla, but I don't know if I'll have to read through any of it until Monday or Wednesday. But then again, I'm not much of an editor, I'd be better for double checking translations.
-
Ookla, I sent you a PM with my email in it.
-
Spriggan, we've got some self-appointed .hack experts (who speak Japanese) lined up to check things. Do you live and breathe .hack?
Chimera, sent. And you get 48% more than everyone else!
-
Nope, I don't.
Just thought I'd offer my help since you were asking, but since I'm not an editor I was just trying to come up with another way I might be of use.
-
Thanks anyway. :)

Chimera, sent. And you get 48% more than everyone else!
That's because I'm special! (At least, my mommy tells me so.) ;)
-
Read and comments sent!
If for some bizzare reason cyber space gobbles them up and you don't get them, let me know. Because I worked hard on them, dang it, and I want you to get them! :)
-
Got them. Thanks! Sent you the next bit if you want it.
