Are there any anime soundtracks that you would particularly recommend?  Obviously I have some of the Kenshin soundtracks, and Cowboy Bebop has excellent music...

macross pluss, which is by the same person (yoko Kanno) that did Coybow bebop.  I actualy like it more the Bebop.

umm...anything from studio ghibli, FLCL is also good.

from there its a case by case thing depending on what type of music you actualy like.

Escaflowne has a good soundtrack, though it's mostly mellow. I hear you prefer booty-shakin' music. ;)

Trigun is a good series, but I don't remember much about the soundtrack.

Speaking of Studio Ghibli, can I just say that I am so excited that they are releasing Whispers of the Heart on DVD? :D

I thought Disney was releasing all of them?

They are, but not all at once.  Disneys plan was to build up popularity for Miazaki films so they could do theatrical releases of them all.  But that hasn't happened so as far a I know they're waiting on Nausica becasue they want to do a theatrical version.

If they do, I'll go see it.  You know I even enjoy the dubbed version, because it's so well done and has so many great actors.

Minnie Driver was great. And I even like G. A. as the wolf, even though some people complained she didn't sound "animalish" enough. She's a "god" people!! Why should she sound wolfie?

I had a hard time believing Claire Danes though.

I don't think any of them really bothered me.  But I like that Lord Okkoto's voice is Goliath from Gargoyles.

Actualy the main complaint about Gillian Anderson being the wolf is that in the Japanese version the wolf god is a male.

Ok, see that's a valid complaint.  But odd, because a she-wolf makes more sense to me mythologically.

Yeah, that soundtrack is a bit disappointing. Not that is isn't cool, just not what you'd really expect. There is one song missing from the thing. I forget which one.

Ya there's 2 FLCL CD's, I don't suspect the second comming out anytime soon.  3/4 of the tracks aren't music, but instead voice tracks.  Basicaly, as the name implies, it's just dialouge from the series.  I don't know why they do that but there are lots of Japanese OST's that do that.
