Title: iTunes 4.9 Rocks
Post by: Mad Dr Jeffe on June 28, 2005, 08:50:10 PM
New features... podcasting...
Publish your podcast to the largest internet music store in the world for free.
New advanced bookmarkable podcast capability to show video, text or graphics in itunes while you listen.
New iPod extras like shuffle and some pre-ipod phone stuff.

If you hate iTunes thats ok, I think its a nice jukebox, and software package, (considering its free)

iTunes has ruled my computer for a couple years now.

It. Is. Awesome.

Hm, makes me wonder what version my Itunes is. I should look that up.

Is there anything iTunes can do that my Winamp still can't?

probably not,... but who knows, I just like the look and feel and ease of iTunes,... Plus its hooked to a great online music store and allows me to publish my music (if I played) or my podcast to the store.

::shrugs::  Winamp has NTV, and everything I've ever wanted in an mp3 player (and now Geiss' Milkdrop comes bundled), except LAME mp3 ripping capabilities (and I seriously doubt iTunes has that, either).

Actually, iTunes does have mp3 ripping capabilities. Compared to other jukeboxes, I also personally feel that the look and ease of use iTunes offers far surpasses that of it's predecessors.

I know iTunes has ripping capabilities, but does it rip LAME mp3s?

I couldn't survive without my high-quality LAME mp3s.  One day I'll probably switch to oggs, but not until I get an mp3 player that works with oggs, too.

And try not to resurrect dead threads, eh?

Dead threads?

It's been my experience in my near three-year tenure here (third forum b-day on the 28th) that there are no such things as dead threads.  If you can find the topic still listed, you can post to it.

There's really not a big enough group of posters here to make this a bad thing.

Are threads really dead or just undead waiting to be reborn?

(Sorry--I couldn't help myself. I've got the Undead Questionaire on the brain.  ;D)

well, there are many objections to thread resurrections. However, this primarily is the result of posting to a thread not posted to 6 months ago to repeat someone else's comment. This one was dead for less than 2 weeks, which I don't think really counts, and he adds new material anyway.

Yes, Saint, posting a "me too" to an old thread to boost post-count is completely uncouth and I hadn't considered that in my above post as any a few newbies who come through here do it.  Then they leave.
