What, no League of Extraordinary Gentlemen?

Other than that, though, great list.

LXG, Watchmen, Long Halloween, Supergirl, Whom Gods Destroy, World Without Grownups, Leave it to Chance, and Superman for All Seasons are ones that I wanted to put on, but when I had three pages after 3 hours, I decided to stop and save some for a future column. At 8 options, probably 2 future columns. I'm sure there's one I'm not thinking of right now.

[edit: I should probably also put Understanding Comics on that list too]

It bothers me, for some unknown reason, that almost all of those above are DC comics. I didn't deliberately choose the smaller press ones (if you can call Image and Dark Horse small press) for this column, but it looks like I've used most of them.

What about Gaiman's Sandman series, or Moore's Swamp Thing, and there's Garth Ennis's Preacer and Warren Ellis's Transmetropolitan.

All great comics in their right. Ennis's telling of The Punisher is a pretty good series as well. Frank Miller's Dark Knight's are very good.

1) I can't list every comic I've ever liked.
2) I don't necessarily agree with all of your choices. You have recommendations, write your own article. I'll run it because I like having other people write content.
3) We're talking about the best of the best of the best. Not just "pretty good."

Since I have almost finished reading the first 7 years of the X-Men comics, I will say that it is pretty good at poitns, but mostly is just entertaining fluff. As are many graphic novels. Some are more entertaining than others, but only a few go beyond mere entertainment. Not to say they're not entertaining, just they have something more.
