Title: Golden(?) Globes
Post by: 42 on December 18, 2003, 01:31:04 PM
Okay so the golden globes nominees are out. So we all know that they aren't really golden as much as gold spray-painted trash.

So I'm disappointed that RotK got snubed in all of the acting catagories, but at least it got it's nods.

I'm surprised that Cold Mountain got as many nods as it did. Prestigious Critics love it, but normal people seem to say it really sucks.

Eddy Vedder got nominated. I wonder how drunk he will be at the ceremony. Should be fun to watch.

In TV, I'm infuriated that the cable-porn show Nip/Tuck got as many nods as it did. The rest just annoy me.

This sure rekindels my hatred for awards shows. The Commies on Comedy Central were alright, but I still found them pretty hackeneyed.

If I ever get to the point in my life where I'm nominated for just such an award, remind me to not let it go to my head and/or not accept the award.

If I win a non sf/fantasy literature related award, that is also not a nobel prize or awarded by a university, then I plan to donate it to my favorite group/show/film/whatever. Like if I win a grammy, it's going to the Kinks. If I win an Oscar, it's going to Lucas. It is my attention with this policy to piss people off.

Did you, perhaps, mean "intension"?

Well, I guess that means you're well on your way.

Couldn't you dedicate it to someone other than Lucas?

actually, I meant "intention" but we all got that.

No, definitely Lucas. He made Episode IV, and no matter how you feel about the prequels, you can't take that yumyy space opera goodness away from me.
