"Sad" because you have the taste to like these shows?

I use to watch both these shows years ago.

I stopped watching Friends after Ross got rid of his monkey, who was the funniest thing on that show, and the few Will and Grace episodes I've seen were fairly funny.

I liked Will and Grace, myself.

Even my wife liked Will and Grace, though she felt guilty because of all the homosexuality in it.

This is amazing! People who pride themselves on intellect are actually admitting to enjoying these shows. Well you what? So do I!
Ross's monkey was funny! Did you see the one where he was dancing? Ha ha ha!

Phoebe is probably the funniest character in friends, because she's so weird!

You gotta love Karen in Will & Grace!

I find both those shows vulgar, so I don't watch them. Of course, most of the time when the TV is on it's cartoons (yes, my boys reign the house), so I suppose that has influenced my tolerance for obscene behavior.

I don't like sitcoms where they have Very Special Episodes, which Friends had in spades.  That's why Seinfeld was such a good show -- nobody hugged, and nobody got weepy-eyed.

I've seen precisely 1 thing about Will & Grace, some preview for it.

It was painfully unfunny. I think my family sort of stared in 'what the hell was that' shock & awe for a few seconds afterwards.

Friends wasn't that bad in it's first few years, it just changed to match what ever else was around until it became the show setting the "standards" if you will.  Will & Grace always was more so, but it a few years after friends when their level of swearing and sexual remarks were more common, but I love the one liners between Jack and Karen.  In fact they could have dumped everyone else and that show would have probably done better.

I think that Will and Grace is the only show I need to watch everytime. Friends is so lame now because they're now all repeats.

Three Reasons why Friends and Will and Grace are pure class.

1) Who doesn't love watching Karen and Jack on W&G. They're so funny.

2) Friends is the best sitcom in the world. EVER.

3) Ok so I have no 3.

Will & Grace is over. But what did you think of the ending?

I personally didn't like it, as I felt that it betrayed the characters. I don't think Will & Grace would ever stop being friends, and doesn't the Jack/Beverly scenario seem rushed and unrealistic.
I also feel the character of Grace was portrayed as very weak, thanks to the ending. 10 years later, and she still lets men get the better of her. Leo treated her badly over and over, and we're supposed to believe in the happily ever after? She hasn't changed or grown after all those years, and that kinda sad.
