Scott Kurtz and Sam Logan linked to this today.

Yeah, uhm... No, I can't really say I had a particular Jim Davis/Garfield hatred previously. At least not on the level of say, the Olsen twins or the N*SUCK. More of just a quiet contempt at his pedestrianism.

BUt it's not supposed to be funny? THat's like, well, wasting everyone's time on purpose for gain. It's like you don't even WANT them to enjoy it. Just to give you stuff.

My contempt and my admiration have grown.

I read that too.

I usually like a most of Slate's articles, but this one rubbed me the wrong way.  In an American sort of way, I'm happy for him.  I mean, cool, he created a character that everyone knows and now he's very rich. I should be so lucky.

You're right Saint. It's both contempt and admiration.  I bet the Germans have a word for that.

This movie should have been called "The Last Contempiration of Garfield."

(There was no offense meant to anyone anywhere anytime during the making of this word. Please excuse yourself in the event of a trombone.)
