Title: Wizkids cuts
Post by: Spriggan on June 22, 2006, 08:50:33 PM
So the other day WK announced they were cutting jobs and products due to poor sales and ICv2 has a list of dead games:

Race Day
Toon Clix
and confirmation on High stakes Drifter (which as been dead since December).

They also axed 15 of 65 employees.

Not surprised with Toonclix, was looking forward to seeing what it was for novelty reasons only, but I thought Race Day was selling.  Guess not.

Jordan Weisman is got as WK's CEO

But he's staying on as a designer.  And they hired a guy from WotC to be in charge of sales, he was Vice President of Brand Marketing for Wizards of the Coast so this could be quite good news for WK on the marketing front.

They've also decided to get rid of retirement on the MW front, http://www.wizkidsgames.com/mechwarrior/mw_article.asp?cid=40897&frame=gameresources, does that mean that retirement on the HC side will be going away soon?
