Title: WoW patches
Post by: Spriggan on December 21, 2004, 09:23:04 PM
Well blizz's horrible bittorrent still sucks.  was downloading at 0.0 kbs for an hour, so I found a site that's hosting the file

http://files.filefront.com/SEARCH/;3771501;;/fileinfo.html

It's a lot like fileplanet with free download servers and member ones.  Right now there's no wait on the free ones.  Took me about a minute to get the 40 mg file.

One of the holiday quests is to kill the grinch (lvl 36 elite Yetti) and the lag in the area is so bad I had to stop playing.  It was constent loading on my PC, every minute or 2 my PC would freeze to load all that was going on.  At my count there was about 50-60 people trying to kill the grinch at once.

Though throwing snowballs at people is fun.

Well, thank you for posting this naught more than 4 hours after I was only an hour from finishing the thing. It took me from 2:45 pm to 9:00pm. It was horrible. But unless the holiday stuff stays around until next week, I may not get to play with it.

I patched mine Friday night, and it burned through it in a couple of minutes, anywhere for 30 kb/s to 400 kb/s. Maybe I just came in after the rush.

I have learned from my past experience in downloading the World of Warcraft client through bittorrent...

1. Start Download
2. Go do something else

It's not so bad if you can keep yourself from looking at the progress meter.
