EUOL--what does class importance mean? Does a high number indicate greater importance or the other way around?

no, it's there where you level up. however, none of the stats have any bearing whatsoever, i believe.

What he said.  It's just for fun.  When you gain enough exp, you can hit the 'level up' button on your profile.  You can add stats.  Right now, this only makes you a better duelist--which, in turn, really doesn't mean anything.  But, if you want to clobber people in dueling, it would be good to up your stats.

Also note that the lower the number on importance the less points it takes to raise a skill, item, or ability.

Well, that's not actually true, but it's close.  The lower the number, the more often you will get a cool new item, ability, or spell when you put points into that thing.
