Title: Missed Post
Post by: Fellfrosch on November 06, 2003, 03:02:32 PM
Yesterday, being Wednesday, is the first weekday since early august that we haven't posted something to the main page--an article, press release, or staff pick. This is entirely my fault, thanks to the allure of the Matrix, but I wanted to take the opportunity to applaud all of you guys who write so many articles for us. This is a very strong time in the history of TWG, and I hope we can keep it up and get even stronger.

Wow, I'll add my applause to that. Way to go you guys.

Speaking of the site, I'd mentioned before that I wanted to completely redesign it in a python web application called Quixote. I'm learning about Quixote at work, and as it turns out it's far too immature an application to do what I want.

Still, it seems like TWG could be reworked to be a much more community-friendly site, and we could maybe get more contributers here. For now it's on the backburner, though.

Soooo what you're saying is that there STILL won't be any poll functionality?

Heh, oh yeah...

Well, that's more due to a PHP bug than anything with the site itself. I guess if people really miss the poll I could just go grab a different one off hotscripts.com or something.

You bet your flying kangaroo rump we do! I've spoken with Jam on this, and he too, misses the greatness of the poll. That was a big reason I came by TWG in the beginning. (Since I'm one of those people who likes reading stuff in my hands, and no, I'm not putting my monitor into my hands) So get to it! Argh!

Doh!  I've got one sitting on my hard drive I could have posted.  (Book review.)  I usually wait to post them until I can do it in the wee hours, so that I don't interfere as much with anything Fell is planning to post that day.

Oh well.

Yes! We need the poll back! The insanity was one of the site's big drawcards.

I agree, the site has had an impressive amount of content. I've been writing some reviews, more coming (Especially now I've finished my exams.) Thanks to everyone else writing them. The content of the site is why I come here (apart from my newfound forum addiction) and the fact that everyone is adding good articles makes it all the better.

Speaing of which, I got worried the other day. I saw three things I'd written on the front page, with two of Fell's and a press release. And nothing by SaintEhlers in sight! I found this highly unusual.

I was in charge of the comittee that did the Azmoth thing, and I wrote the copy. I have a bunch I'm gonna bust out, but first I have to get a higher word count than Fell on my novel for today :D

EUOL told me last night that he'd post his book review today. I hope he does, as it will take me a day or two to get any new reviews of my own up on the site.

Oh, yeah.  I did say that didn't I...

Well, better get that up, then.

Speaking of posts, where are my other MTG decklists? I sent about three of them, I thought. The others weren't corrupted too were they?

The others were lost in the great pit of not having been posted correctly. Sorry. If you submit them through the site instead of emailing them to me, that usually doesn't happen.
