Title: Waste of global resources
Post by: The Holy Saint, Grand High Poobah, Master of Monkeys, Ehlers on March 30, 2004, 12:02:06 PM
I'm-a gonna Bar-be-cue tonight. Grillin up some pork chops. I likes me some pork chops.

I was just thinking though, that since I have to heat up the grill, and pork chops cook so fast, that I'm going to wait a long time for the coals to cool. I'm using all those charcoals that took nature's resources to manufacture, and advancing the heat death of the universe in a small way, all for maybe ten minutes of cooking.

It's thoughts like this that make me ignore any environmentallist concerns in the world, because otherwise I'd feel guilty and stop bar-be-cueing. And, as I said before, I likes me some Pork Chops.

one way to not feel guilty is to use the grill for more than just the porkchops... throw some corn on the grill, and a can of baked beans or a grill basket filled with veggies.

oh, I don't feel guilty. Because I don't think about it. The pleasure I take from grilled pig meat is too great to be ruined by some namby-pamby environmentalist concern that isn't all that significant anyway.

To be fair I'm doing about 4 or 5 pounds (at least, i think we need more) of Pork Chops. I don't think you can find corn on the cob in March. Almost certainly not at an affordable price. ANd I don't care for baked beans. I refuse to be a party to their preparation.

just take the green pepers and cut them in half, then grill them as such.  No stuffing.  Its something that was allwayse at the Barbecues I went to in Japan.  Grew a likeing to it.
