There are two flaws with that theory.  First, RJ said we could figure it out with what we had by the end of Fires of Heaven, which excludes the prologue you mention.  Second, Shaidar Haran can't channel, and none of the Foresaken even know who he is until later on, after he is first introduced.  Asmodean would have scoffed at the big Myrrdraahl, just like the other Foresaken did the first time they met him.  Asmodean was BALEFIRED!!!!!!!  This is why it is so hard to figure out.  Everyone has a theory and sticks to it despite evidence to the contrary.

You too! ;-) I'm not convinced he was balefired. The "hang in the air" thing may or may not be a reference to that. It could be a reference to a very quick kill with a blade too. As I'm not really sure who killed him or the exact method (i've got my ideas) I'm going with the true "obvious answer" Bela did it!

About the Jordan V Goodkind thing,

Yes all authors borrow ideas from each other and basic stories from older stories. The big problem here was far too many parallels from one to other.

Aiel = Mud people
White Cloaks = Blood of the Fold
Aes Seadi = Sisters of light

I know there was a whole bunch more, but I can't think of what they were now as it's been a few years since I've read SoT - I'll have to go do that one again someday :-)

I've always said SoT was a good story, but it really lacked the depth that WoT has. I mean really I got pretty sick of Richard/Kahlan always getting split up. I will say that Faith of The Fallen was by far the best part of that whole series and will probably be held up as TGs best work.

- Who killed Asmodean??? He was killed out of nowhere after just being ressurrected. I don't even have an idea who it might be besides one of the other Forsaken.

According to Mr. Robert Jordan that should be "intuitively obvious to the most casual observer"......... I won't post my theories here, there are enough of those :-)

Mwah ha ha ha :)

Love the updates, they are tons of fun!

Obviously, it is impossible to publish a 700,000 word book on many levels.  A split is going to be mandatory no matter what.

Not impossible, I've got a bible with archeological hisotories that stretches well beyond the size of any WoT book. (think it's about 2000 pages total). Of course the type is very small and reading for more than about an hour will make you go blind ;-) I'd much rather see a "normal" book and soon!

Comfortable Madness,

You are correct. The big question I have regarding the blade (forgive me if it's a spoiler) is why Tam got such a special blade, (See Lan description at beginning of TGH), and what path that blade traveled to arrive at Rand Al'Thor.

Joe,

Hang in there. Rhuidean was pretty rough for me the first time around too. It gets clearer, and I find on subsequent re-reads its one of my favorite points in the story. Don't worry you'll be back with Perrin soon and it's WELL worth the wait!

I'm just about to start FoH but can't cause of too much other stuff going on. Arrrggghhhh!!!! Maybe I will anyway ;-)

I don't remember where it was but I think Min had a viewing that pretty much said Perrin would discover the song.

Brandon Sanderson / Re: RE Entertainment signs deal with EA

As Ookla pointed out EA is just distributing. Many of the games out there that EA distributes are not very good, however, much of their in-house development is fantastic. EA does best with Sports titles, (NCAA, Madden, NBA Live, MLB, FIFA) I personally also enjoyed the Medal of Honor series quite a bit. What I'd like to know now is are there any other games Red Eagle has previously done that might be worth a look?

Personally I think it is the Creator and the DO is trapped inside the pattern. He also won't actually take part in the battle, but Rand & Moridin will do the actual physical fighting. Purely a guess, and can't wait to find out!

Ryan,

I have to agree with Razor. I understand the feeling of it seeming a bit unwieldy but RJ was creating an ENORMOUS world with many side characters that may or may not be pivotal in the last battle. I think BS will do good as he is both a fantastic writer AND a fan of the series. With the help from RJ's notes and Harriet's vast knowledge and editing abilities it should come as close to what RJ would have done as it can. Even BS has said on MANY occasions that the only one who could do it completely right is RJ.

Another reason for Ishy's high status (which kind of agrees with what everyone else has been saying) he never really tries to Kill Rand in direct combat and specifically he even helps Rand after the command was issued in the beginning of book 6.

Also note, Rand is the "fisher king" played in the Game that Moridin is playing in book 8 (I think). Part of the strategy of that game is to manipulate the fisher king's movements. I believe the DO NEEDS Rand at the last battle, even if he is fighting against the shadow, after all if there is no Last Battle, then how can he win and escape and break the wheel? (I believe the one Black Ajah of the 5 Aes Sedai loyal to Rand (per Min's vision) used similar logic for her reasons to support Rand)

My point remains the same–it goes both ways.

Wrong, when an Aes Sedai's warder is killed she goes through an extremely heavy period of mourning, however does not go on a killing spree/vengance hunt. Now it is unclear if this is due to the way the bond works or if its more likely the ways that men and woman are different in their grief. The books are not clear on this, however, I suspect the latter is the case.

Happyman,

I think the notions about Perrin discovering the song and Lan bringing back the Malkiar (sp) are more born of specific forshadowing from the books. Either Min viewings, or Egwene/Perrin dreams have hinted at these things happening.
