Ok then people, bring it on.  Whats your theories? And if you dare say "There is no point", I will castrate you.

My serious opinion? Any universe simple enough to be understood is to simple to hold life complex enough to understand it.

The meaning of life is death.  Without death, life would be pointless and directionless.  Without death we wouldn't know what life is, and there would be no meaning of life.  So the meaning and defining quality of life is death.

The meaning of life is Entropy!

If you're ever in an argument and Entropy winds up looking staid and temperate in comparison, it might be time to cut your losses and start a new thread about something else :)

you're born, you consume resources, you get old, you reproduce you die. that is pretty much all life does and all evolution strives for, it all revolves around reproducing to carry on your genes, and philosophically speaking most people say it's something like love, so in a word i would have to say sex...but then again I'm a hopless romantic so IMO it's love.

Since I'm assuming you don't want deep religious views on the subject, the meaning of life is to find things, people, and a way of life that bring you joy, and then to relish that joy.  Not pleasure; joy.

If, by some chance, you do want deep religious views on the issue, we'll be happy to accomodate you.

as the highest level representative of the "Student of divinity" class (highest level on the board at all, actually) I'm quite qualified to make the final conclusion that you are, in fact, not god. More to the point, God is angry with you and anyone with a healthy respect for natural disasters would do well to stay far away from you for a while.
