Google and Stuff

So, you don't have to submit to search engines anymore, right?  Also, do they still use meta-tags?

I'm just trying to figure out how to make my website actually show up on google/yahoo searches.  Don't they evaluate now based on how many web pages link to you?

yeah, you have to have links on other pages, with google. I don't think the meta tags matter.

Um... I'm not sure what to suggest...

You need to trick a Google spider into coming to your page.

I actually submitted robisonwells.com to Google.  It took about a month or so, but it finally showed up.  The longer it's been on, the higher it shows up in the rankings.

Also, google ranks things by how many other pages link to you. And from what I understand, meta tags are all but ignored these days.
