Transformer Names
« on: January 29, 2005, 06:12:56 PM »
Okay, this is a very random question.

Did any of you play with transformers?

I need three cool transformer names, and I'm looking through the lists online, and some of them sound cool, but I don't know which ones were popular...if some of the cool names correspond to lame toys...because I don't know anything about them.

So, cool transformer names, anyone?

Umm, do I have to tell you why?  I feel dumb.

I was thinking about Starscream, Aquanaught, and Dreadwing.  I don't know though.

Starscream was a totally cool name, and not a bad toy, but on the TV show he was an amazingly annoying wimp.  I hated him.

Starscream, therefore, cannot be associated with the word 'cool' in any way.

Bluestreak was way cool.

My husband says three coolest transformer names are: Starscream, Sunstreaker, and Jetfire.

Runners up, he says, are Jazz, Omega Supreme, Megatron, Windcharger, Cliffjumper.

Take his advice.  Straight from the horse's mouth of the biggest fan I know.

We've got a binary split on Starscream, which means it must be a good name.  Controversial is always good.

I like Windcharger and Jetfire too, and they seem to work for what I'm going for.

Yay.

Umm, so I'm feeling less stupid now...in one of the stories I'm working on there's a guy who owns three boats, and I've decided to have him name them after transformers, because it's random.  And random is always good.

So do those three names sound like boat names?

Although, I really wanted at least one of them to sound sort of evil.  And to stand out as strange.  And some of those sound painfully normal...too normal...

Starscream is WEAK.

Now, the coolest, is of course, Once and Future leader of the Autobots, Optimus Prime.

Megatron was cool, but became cooler once he became Galvatron.

I always liked Unicron. Did he ever have a toy?

Oh, and jazz is just a legend.

But Jazz is a VERY painfully normal name for a boat.

I have met your husband, but only like once, and transformers didn't come up.

But that reminds me, do you still want to have a Rent party? ;D

My brothers played with Go-Bots, but had one little Transformer: a flying saucer named Pathfinder. Since my brothers were Leader-1 and Red Alert, respectively, I always got to play the flying saucer.

Then I got bored and broke out my She-Ra doll to terrorize the Go-Bots.

Boring name. Wierd bot.
