Hmmm you guys got me interested in it. Maybe I'll try to get a copy somehow. I'm quite broke though, can't scrounge up 20 bucks right now
A lot of people describe Scalzi’s Old Man's War novels as military science fiction, but I would classify its sequel Zoë’s Tale as a space opera. It’s a story about, well, Zoë, a teenage girl whose parents are invited to take leadership roles in building a colony on a new planet. Zoë is an enthusiastic member of the group sent to colonize Roanoke, despite the risks—and the risks are considerable even before the political machinations of greater powers boil to the surface. I am so sick of the way that American cinema depicts vampires that I could scream! Vampires are ruthless beats who feed on humans as we feed on cows. They are not interested in romancing humans, nor do they wallow in existential angst over their lot in life. All they care about is their next meal and they don't care where it comes from.
This whole notion of the "noble" vampire who loathes what he has become is pure garbage!
I dont want to see a movie about drag queens and transexuals...
