Would you say no to a guy called titanman? He'd probably just throw her through a window.

psh, she deserved it.  I'm with Sups on this one.

And I'm with Spriggan. I didn't think Superman was being a jerk at all! What I meant by "that's sad" is that it was sad if that was the actual conflict of the issue. (They must have been really stretching to make that the plot.) And like Jeffe said--why couldn't Lois say "I don't"? Grow a backbone, woman! And it's sad to think that in the next issue Superman and Lois will be back together again. Why would Superman want such a superficial and wishy-washy girl? Bimbo.

This is just the impression I am getting from the cover, though. I don't know what went on in the actual comic. But that isn't exactly a grabbing cover to me. Especially with Lois being so stupid and helpless. Besides--why would you agree to marry a man who wears a hood without seeing what was underneath first? Common sense.
There is just no way you are the pine-scented air. --Billy Collins, "Litany"

Superman was often made to look much more like a jerk ont he cover than he ever was in the actual story. The cover was generally related to the story, but promised a hook that was never delivered.

As opposed to todays covers, which are just places to put the names of the actors/authors in really huge font and maybe stick some random boring picture in.

Heh. I have no idea whether this is true, but I heard on the radio (KSL for you SLC/Provo people) that Nicholas Cage just named his son Kal-el.

Kal-El Coppola, even.

Further proof that celebrities should not be allowed to name or raise children.

I heard a black stand-up comic say once that it doesn't matter what rich white people name their kids, because they will never have to put it on a name tag at Kinkos.

And maybe they have expensive private schools for kids with weird names so they don't get teased.

It shows just enough. Lots of little nods of the head to the earlier Superman films and the comics. I'm excited.

I'm with e on that. It "teases" in all the right ways. I felt like it had this solemn tone and sense of wonder to it, which is cool. I'm sick of the "shock and awe" teasers that try way too hard to make their point. So I liked this minimalist, solemn sort of approach. I can't wait to see more!  :D

Anyone else catch the overtly Christian overtones of the teaser?

Anyone else catch the overly christian themes of superman himself? The character is a rewrite of Jesus, basically. :P
