An eye on the object.
« on: May 08, 2004, 01:36:03 AM »
So, anyone else a bit into photography? I know I am after my Work Study job in the Public Relations department this year and playing with a $1000 SLR camera. Take a look at what I got with a 2 megapixel camera: http://img28.photobucket.com/albums/v85/Gemm09/Nature/P1010010.jpg

Nifty huh? If you've got anything nifty to share, share it.

Thats... a lot of honey :p

I don't do digital, but I have a couple SLRs and a double-lens reflex as well. I've worked as a photographer before. I don't have many of my best pics scanned, though. Maybe sometime I'll but them up but it's not at the top of my list right now.

Great shot, Gemm.

Yes, Gemm.   That's a great picture.  I'm impressed.

My roommate is a professional photographer, and my other roommate is big into digital photography.  (Between the two of them, I'll bet they've blown a good 15k on camera equipment.)  So, I get to tag along on their photography trips (like I did last week.)

Thats awesome EUOL. And stacer, I revel in the thought that you have an SLR camera. I am envious. But yeah, EUOL, get me some of the specs on their equipment, this is definately something I can see myself doing.

Gorgon, don't you need a basic understanding of still image photography to raise yourself to the bar of video photography? So you know where the good shots are and such?

Well, I know my roommate likes to shoot with 'real' film.  He has a medium format camera, two 35 mm cameras, and I *think* he has a large format too.

The digital guy just bought a second digital camera.  The first one only cost him about $800, but this one was way more expensive.  I'll try and figure out what types they are for you.

My husband- who has half of his degree in photography- also prefers to work with real film.  I think most professionals either go totally film, or a mix of film with digital.

Yes, you do.  I just prefer doing moving shots rather than still photos, but I do do still photos periodically.  I got first place best of show in photography at 4H last year.

So I climbed a mountain yesterday. 3.3 miles one way and 1290 feet in the air later, I got some pictures at the top.

The bugs got themselves into some of the pictures.
