Of course.  Imagine a man flying through the air, twisting, flipping, swinging from ropes or bars, walking tightropes over gaping pits of flame or dens of wild beasts.  The audience would think that this was pretty exciting stuff, huh?

Then imagine that the entire time he's doing this he's thinking to himself, "this is so terribly boring.  I can't believe how mundane my life has become."  You see, only we acrobats understand the banality of death-defying stunts.  We continue to do them only because the rest of you give us money for it.
