I'm not sure why, but I'm not a big fan of Shannon Hale.  I read this book and I thought it was okay but I don't think I'd feel the need to recommend it to anyone.
If I had any clue, would I be here?

Hale's subtle magic makes this book more appealing for more mainstream readers. I do like the themes of faith and hope and how Dashti works through her problems.

However, I liked Austenland better.
