Haha, I really like the way you're thinking!
Not sure if this theory is plausible, but it is nice.

A lot of people describe Scalzi’s Old Man's War novels as military science fiction, but I would classify its sequel Zoë’s Tale as a space opera. It’s a story about, well, Zoë, a teenage girl whose parents are invited to take leadership roles in building a colony on a new planet. Zoë is an enthusiastic member of the group sent to colonize Roanoke, despite the risks—and the risks are considerable even before the political machinations of greater powers boil to the surface. This doesn't really jive with the idea that Roshar has 3 shards, if Sazed was Cultivation, there would be 4 shards. We are talking about gods here, who says shardholders can't talk to each other over long interstellar distances?
Unless, when someone gets 2 shards, they form 1?That's what I was suggesting.
Oh... I see.Do they have to ask, or are they asked?
If i understand correctly, all of the authors are personal friends of the non-author owners/admins of the site, and were asked if they wanted their own section or something. I'm pretty sure it's all just authors from the BYU area, since its section is LOCAL authors.
Note: All of this could be quite wrong.
George RR Martin fans have convinced him to try his hand at A Song of Ice and Fire, as they figure he can finish the entire series before Martin releases his next book.YMMD.
some thoughts
1. He is writing Twilight fan fiction
2. He has decided to go dark. He is writing a dark, twisted fantasy novel that makes George RR Martin's books look like childrens literatureI would like that... very much, lol.
3. He is serving as Peter Ahlstrom's assistant while he works on his first book.
4. He is writing an essay about how he is not a fantasy writerConsidring the speed with which he writes books, an essay would be finished in no time.
5. He has taken a position in the Obama administration as the Czar of Fantasy writing. His first act is to waterboard Terry Goodkind.Hehe, noone seems to like him, and WOTmaniacs least of all.
It seemed to come from her hand, and she realised she was grasping something there. One of the beads
One of the beadsOne of the beads she was drowning on.
Preposterous! Abuse? It is no fault of ours if spren are attracted to our property. This argument is a slippery slope. What's next? Do we close down windmills* because they rely on windspren to function? Discourage the experience and expression of emotion because emotions attract fearspren or gloryspren? Ban the sale of alcoholic beverages to stop the oppression of drunkspren?I must concur!
There is no evidence to suggest spren are imprisoned in fabriels against their will. If they are attracted to certain gems, there must be some benefit or profit they hope to receive. Indeed, it may be that the spren that are "imprisoned" are the spren who were fortunate enough to gain exclusive access to the gem.
I move for this petition to be dismissed as frivolous and unnecessary.
