How could I have forgotten Alcatraz? Definently good books. Their humor reminds me a little of Douglas Adams.
News:

I respond, "Sure, but if you want to write them you will certainly want to know how they work." Writing is all about execution, and I find applying some basic laws of physics to magic systems make them more understandable and realistic. Here, I'm going to outline my basic method for developing a magic system.

There's really no bad place to start except in the middle of mistborn. I started with Elantris, myself. I, personally would probably start with mistborn if I could do it all again.

Hi, My pen name is Kirk Vaunter. And... I don't think I've ever eaten a fish...
I lie a lot, too.
I'm an aspiring writer, still working on my first book... 2 years and 3 chapters down... But lots of worldbuilding done. Got several notebooks filled with maps and short excerpts. Haven't typed much up since Access t oa computer with Microsoft Word is limited. ARGHUBUBBLE!
Hoping that having deadlines will help me with that. Not the Word thing, the Worldbuilders Disease. Working title for the book is Val'Kyrie, but that'll have to change. Best contender for title: Gold, Steel, and Gods. Nah, maybe Gold, Steel, and Fire. But once I post some, I'll be open to suggestions.

Also for those who say Batman can't kill, we'll just go Dark Knight style batman. He can definitely kill people.
If you are referring to christian bale as batman in the newest movie, you are mistaken. He does not kill.

Just finished reading The Name of the Wind. Fantastic, even though it really didn't go anywhere. Absolutely awesome.
Question: I read book one of A song of Ice and Fire, and there are only two characters I still like (John Snow and The tomboy/princess). And it doesn't look like they'll be able to survive much longer. And I'm also not really a fan of incest (go figure). My question is this: Is the series worth continuing?
I just realized I asked this question to a Fantasy book forum, and the response will be undoubtably yes.

The key is proper planning and equipment, which Batman Would acquire. Batman of course, doesn't use guns unless they are specially modified for certain tasks, but he would use specially concocted grenades or mines. see: Nitrogen Batarang. That said, his special equipment and stealth are his only advantages.
Batman's normal methods of planning may or may not be effective, because jedi do have limited precognition. That's why anakin was able to fly podracers. He cannot compete with the lightsaber, or the force powers. Therefore, I award the victory to Vader.
Of course, If Batman survived, the next time they faced eachother Batman would win. Period.
