Profile>Forum Profile Information>I have my own pic...

Then just put in the URL of your avatar.  Make sure and keep it PG.

It takes up more bandwidth and can really slow the forums down for people on slow internet connections.

It appears to be linked off your own computer. You need to download it to a picture hosting site, like Photobucket.com and link it from there.
