42, how ya doin?
« on: February 27, 2004, 03:51:17 PM »
Haven't seen many posts from you lately (probably because I don't look at the RPG section much) and the last three or four times I've gone over to your house to hang out with Sprig and Prometheus, you weren't there.

So, what's up lately?  How are things?

Mostly, I've been job hunting. I've also had a bunch of family stuff come up. My brother got married, My nephew was ordaned a deacon and my grandfather went into the hospital.

I've been finishing up my degree on-line and I've decided that online courses rock. They actually work around your life instead of the other way around.

Last week I actually slept without medication for three hours. That was good. It was crappy sleep, but I'll take what I can get.

My daily routine lately consist of reading my scriptures, job hunting for a couple of hours, work on school stuff for a couple of hours, play with my ferret for a couple of hour, then work on RPG stuff, watch TV, and try to sleep.

So what are you up to?

Which brother got married?  (Seeing as how you have more siblings than most people I know.)

The rocket scientist that lives in Maryland and is a bout a year older than me. Another one of my brother, the child prodigy who studies slimy things in the Everglades, is getting married in June.

This makes me the oldest unmarried child in the family, which kind of sucks. Particularly since my other unmarried siblings are out of the country, so all the meddling matchmakers in the family are descending on me. I must train my ferret to attack them on sight.

I feel for you.  Trust me.  I know how it is.  I've tried to train Beaker to attack matchmakers, but he's generally interpreted "Kill" as "Fly over onto their shoulder and look cute while preening and saying your name."

I've been keeping busy with teaching, writing, and getting my book ready for publication.  Which reminds me--we should get together and go over art stuff.  If you're still willing, I sure would like some Jeff Creer art in ELANTRIS.

Anyway, about your life, I'm surprised the prodigy brother is getting married.  Didn't you tell me you thought that would never happen?  How'd it come about?

Isn't that how he responds to just about anything?

Yes, I'm still interested in creating some art work for your book.

How my brother got engaged? Well, is was actually arranged by my parents. See his fiancee lives out here. And our Dad is her bishop. My mom decided that she wanted this girl in the family so she gave her my brother's email address. So as you see my brother got snared.

heh, you're tall, I have a sister-in-law out there who's single....

(Just kidding! About the arranging. I DO have a single sister-in-law out there interested in tall guys, but I don't think you two would otherwise make a good match.)

Isn't there someone out there who's interested in her?

Beaker probably.
If you're ever in an argument and Entropy winds up looking staid and temperate in comparison, it might be time to cut your losses and start a new thread about something else :)

uhm... this is my one in-law I don't really get along with. she stresses about stupid things, cares about things i feel are worthless, and she has no respect for the things I try to accomplish.
