talking to your new boss and having him say... oh yeah, your going to do containers and facilities inspections... oh and you almost never stand duty. Oh and once you get your quals for containers and facilities we're gonna have you do port state control boardings.... yay.

The best though is when he says "we work from 0730 to 1600 and if you dont want to be in the office you just do harbor patrol, or something.

Getting a response to my rejection letters saying, "This is one the best rejection letters I have ever received." (and it not being sarcastic)

When you are terrified of flying (not just nervous, or scared, but completely and utterly terrified), and you are flying into the SLC airport from Japan, and you are about 15 feet off the ground and you think, "If the plane goes down, I might survive".

And knowing you don't have to get on another plane in the foreseeable future.

Hey, you too can be a Lostie! Just make sure your plane crashes near a deserted island hidden by an electromagnetic field.

I derive this good feeling from being evil.
Getting to see Superman this morning, and having my friend tell me he hates me because I saw yet another movie he cant wait to see for before him (I did it for all the new Starwars and the first XMen)

And with that... May your days be bright and your contact with stupidity limited...

When the last box is unpacked.

You go to bed to a spotlessly clean house (it must be done in the evening, otherwise the kids do something to ruin your sense of completeness).

Someone tells you that she's gone back to re-read her favorite parts of your story.  :)

Eating ripe, juicy strawberries, picked this morning from our Amish neighbors' field and kept at room temperature all day.

Kitties! Very happy-making.

Also, a really good book--so good that you're glad you had the sequel on hand, and you finish the sequel within the day.
