Where did the fearful symmetry name come from?
You might want to change the website name to something with your name in the URL itself such as: danwells-author.com, or dan-wells.com. If a search keyword is included in the name of the website, that website is much more likely to come up higher in the results.
2) You could include a Meta Description in the code of your page, just something very simple like:

Its just one line of code to insert in your webpage, below the <title>tag.
When a Meta description contains the keyword that the user is searching for, the search engines like google tend to display this text in the search results rather than some random text from your site, allowing you much more control over how you are presented to online searchers.
