actually, i've been vocal on the message board debate about hte issue. Been quoted by the author of the issue.

Also, it prevents my nation from being affected by the resolution.

well, I meant the author of the ISSUE. Not hte book. However, I'm not interested in the book. But if you want it, I'm sure either Fell or I could try.

How's this for messed up:
Quote
The Issue
In desperation at the plight of the beagle, which has virtually no natural habitat left in Free Trade Bask, a somewhat unorthodox environmental group demands that the few surviving specimens be domesticated and sold in pet stores.

The Debate
1. "We must act now, before the beagle is lost forever," said spokesperson Calvin Wong during a recent interview. "Domestication has ensured the survival of many endangered species in the past, and there really is no alternative left at this point. Besides, I'm sure many families would be thrilled to welcome a beagle into their homes."

2. "Sure, beagles might look cute and harmless to you," says retired hunting legend Bill Summers, "but back in my day, they were the scourge on the nation. They carry a number of dangerous diseases, and you do NOT want to be bitten by one. My cousin was once bitten by a beagle. So now you want my grandchildren exposed to these things? The sooner they disappear completely, the better!"

The reason I chose "beagle" as my national animal was because it was already domesticated and could be sold in stores.

I recall having the same problem with my nation.  Of course my national animal was the 'Autobot', and domesticating them proved a bit interesting.

Why, did they produce little babies that ended up spinning off into a really bad TV show.... errr, I mean no.

Mine is the black hawk, as in the helicopter. I was always interested in precisely how it 'frolicked' in the 'woods'.
If you're ever in an argument and Entropy winds up looking staid and temperate in comparison, it might be time to cut your losses and start a new thread about something else :)

In all fairness, they asked for an ANIMAL, not transformable robot or vehicle of war, so any incongruities between the issue and the actual reality of your national animal are to be expected. I didn't know there were wild beagles though.

I still occassionally see new issues. What's really disappointing about it is the lack of interaction with other nations. You can role play wars, but they have 0 effect on the individual nations.

I also disagree with quite a bit of his political theory, which is at best full of exaggerated results.

I think the exagerated part is about the only real fun to the site.  But I don't know how much longer I'll go just becasue the past week have been nothing but repeats for me and I have yet to make it to a police-state dispite my best efforts.

*sigh*
I may quit. I don't post on the weekend, so on MOnday morning I have several issues backlogged. One nation got the same issue two days in a row. How lame.
