Be happy. Your book made it into the living room book shelf. Y'know, the one that's in the room where we intend to entertain guests and so show the books we actually want people to know we read and enjoy.
-
My copy still has not come out of hiding.
-
my copy in on the floor next to my bookcase, one of these days I'll walk over to that side of my room and finish organizeing it.
-
Well, the branch presidency came over to introduce themselves, and I couldn't even find my copy, so I forgive Fuzzy and Sprig. I really need to start unpacking.
-
I believe my copy is positioned between HP Lovecraft and Neil Gaiman books.
-
That's some prestigious company.
-
My copy is also on the living room bookshelf between Peter S. Beagle (The Last Unicorn) and Stephen Crane (The Red Badge of Courage). I'm not quite sure how it ended up there.
-
I looked everywhere for my copy--in the bookcase in the living room, in the bookcase in the bedroom, in the hall closet, around the TV, and then it hit me, I don't have a copy. I guess I'm not in HoM's special reader club :( . Oh, well. I guess I'll just have to buy it when it comes out :).
-
It's been out for two years. Just go to your local Seagull.
-
Oh, I guess I thought they were talking about his other book coming out soon about the boys and they're adventures (something with a chicken in the title). That doesn't come out till later this year and they never mentioned which book it was at the beginning of this thread. I thought HoM had sent out advance copies for reviews to some people of TWG (or at least that's what I gathered from reading the threads). Guess I was wrong.
-
The chicken book is actually Firemeboy. Mustard is working on book 2 of a trilogy, the first of which came out last year. The title of that is Wake Me When It's Over.

I found it!
I found my copy of "On Second Thought" last night, (which has been hiding since November) and was so happy that I took it to work to read it again. I knew today would be slow enough for a full book. I"ve been meaning to ask you- did you make up all the crazy sunday school things or did some of them come from "that actually happened" stories? I was thinking particularly of things like "they should have shot the seagulls and eaten them AND the crickets" and the lesson about "how women shouldn't feel bad that we don't have the priesthood, because it's our sacred responsibility to do the canning."
And now that I've found the book it can go back on the shelf next to its brother, and on the other side of Beth Hilgartner's books.
-
Yeah... so will I be getting your 2nd book the same time your 3rd book comes out? =P Anytime Rob, any time.
-
I just barely started reading it, and thought the "going back to school" thing was very strange. If you already have a bachelor's from somewhere, doesn't that usually mean you can't go for a bachelor's from somewhere else?
-
I can't imagine any university actively denying someone the right/opportunity to give them money. They want a second bachelors? let em pay for it.
-
I think you just can't get a second one from the same college.
-

This is because you went to BYU, which won't admit people if they already have a bachelor's for another bachelor's. But that's just space issues, not that most universities won't let you get a second bachelor's.
Wait--did he go back to BYU for a second bachelor's? I just packed up my copy of the book, so I can't just go look.
-
He did - his first was U of U, second was at BYU. Whoops. ;)
-
yes, technical error, but none of us care all that much except as interesting trivia.
You can definitely get second bachelor's degrees though. My brother actually has two from the U.
-
I know for a fact that BYU will not accept you if you allready have a bachelors from somewhere else.
-
Well, that's what I get for going to the U and writing about BYU. At the U, they're desperate for whatever they can get -- I guess BYU is pickier.
And Gemm, I swear the book is in the mail. My wife mailed it last week -- I'm actually surprised you haven't gotten it yet. (And I mean it this time -- the book is actually in the mail.)
-
Heh, ok. As long as your pleasantly surprised that it is in the mail, then by all means I'll be patient.
