I adopted a kitty today! His name is Sam, and he's a long-haired sweetheart. Funny thing about his particular variety, he doesn't shed as much as a regular shorthair, which is good for my allergies.

However, in the grumpy department, he clawed me really good at his previous home when I tried to pick him up and had an accident in the car on the way to my house. So now I've got a stinky kitty and had to bathe him with wounded hands--both are pretty scratched up--and didn't have any pet shampoo on hand to do it with. So he still stinks, though thankfully I got him cleaned off so he isn't trailing gross things around with him and staining everything in my apartment. I still need to give him another bath, but I think I'll wait a few days till my hands are healed more and he's more used to me--better not traumatize him overmuch.

Yay for Amazon.com! I'm selling a few books, getting the extra junk out of the house! And I'm making money in the bargain. It's like running a yard sale in cyberspace.

He definitely needs another bath, though. This kitty stinks. It's not his fault--he gets traumatized by car rides. But I can't give him a good bath with my hand all wounded like this. Perhaps I need to take him in and get him professionally groomed, just this once.

I'm happy that my older brother appreciated the significance of being given the "Logan's Run" DVD for his 30th birthday.

I'm happy because MsFish fed me. And she's a great friend even without providing me nourishment.

And I'm happy that I have an awesome tan. I love when I am tan--I look hot!!!  ;D

Was a good weekend. Got to see They Might Be Giants in concert this year. Went over to Cleveland with a buddy to see them at the Odeon. Very good show. Lots of young people (18+ show) and lots of energy. Got to drive aimlessly around Cleveland for a while before and afterhand.

Best bit was when me and my friend were going to go to our friends place but he ended up going to bed and being unavailable sometime before the show ended. So we ended up heading to some building that wasn't being used and slept behind it in my car. Wouldn't have been so bad were it not a fairly hot, humid, muggy night.

I also saw Charlie & the Chocolate Factory (in Ohio), War of the Worlds, and The Longest Yard (the latter two at the drive-in). So, hand-in-hand this was a fun weekend.

I'm happy because in a couple of weeks, I'll be moving out of Iowa and going to Colorado. Not that Iowa is a bad state to live, I just prefer mountains.
